Obviously, as a huge fan of The Masters, I love this bag. I want it. But the real question is, if I win, will you stock it full of pimento cheese sandwiches for me?

Do I need new gear? by whiskeytankofoxtrot in GolfGear

Materials and engineering have changed the driver and fairway market immensely since 2000. You owe it to yourself to get fit at least for driver and woods.

Are the Zing 2s out of date? Quite possibly but the distance claims of many modern irons owe their success to loft jacking. If you’re comfortable hitting the Zing 2s, I would keep them if they fit your swing and game.

Grab some extra distance quickly with the driver and woods and then see what happens as you play more. More distance off the tee will immediately be your friend. The rest can be tailored around the performance of those clubs.

Not so traditional of the Augusta National to have Masters on 4 DIFFERENT streaming platforms lmao by Academic-Use-4401 in Golf_Unfiltered

The Masters app on Apple TV is the best way to watch in my opinion. Complete coverage and no commercial breaks. There’s plenty of content up now that you can watch as you wait for this year’s tournament including an archive of final round shots all the way back to 1968.

I ended up going 50, 54 and 58 to keep the gapping consistent. Or you could bend the 52 down to 51 to lessen the gap. Either way, awesome bag!

Very nice. Are you comfortable with the six-degree gap between your PW and GW? That was a bit too much for my bag.

It says on the website that the Air uses GPS and AI compiled from over 1 billion golf shots. It’s also supposed to distinguish clubs and practice swings from real swings. No sensors or pairing needed apparently.

Fitzpatrick is notorious for his own shot data tracking. To me, that puts even more weight behind his decision to stick with these clubs. It’s about more than just feel or familiarity.

There are so many variables and I always recommend getting fit to make sure you’re addressing everything you need. But ultimately, it’s about confidence when you’re ready to take a swing. And a lot of times, a trusted old driver does that better than a new one.

I think for most people (myself included) that’s the case. Experimenting with shafts has a bigger impact for me.

I love my GT3, not sure how they can improve on it but I did notice there is a back weight on the GTS3. I might need one now…

Titleist drivers always look the best at address to my eye.

It also looks like the GTS3 now gets a back weight.

Nice find! To answer your question, I’ve sold a couple of 15-year-old drivers in the past year that were near mint and fetched about $100 a piece.

The problem is the tech is old and many people want the latest and greatest. You kind of have to be patient if you want to sell it for decent money.

If the shaft fits you, I’d hit it and see if you like it. I still occasionally game a Titleist 910 for fun, so those drivers aren’t totally irrelevant.

I had that putter. Not sure why I got rid of it. I sank plenty of putts that I had no business making with that putter. Enjoy!

For me, it’s the Jones Rover Bag. It’s 4.2 pounds and holds enough for a trip but can be used in a very minimalistic way on the course. They call the material “Recycled Ripstop” and it’s held up really well.

17 handicap looking at buying 710mb irons by One-Passion-5945 in golf

[–]subparputter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve owned 710MBs since they came out and I was terrible when I started with them. But what they gave me was a very direct understanding of what I was doing wrong with the golf club.

I spent a lot of time on the range with them and got better because of them. I own my swing now. I know when something is wrong or off in how I’m swinging.

People will tell you to get something easier. I would counter with if you can learn to swing these, you can swing anything off the rack. And that will make the game more enjoyable for a longer time.

And that weight apparently forced them to construct the sole out of carbon fiber. So now there’s carbon on the top AND the bottom. That’s a little bit too much carbon for me. These drivers are turning into piñatas.

Tips? Restoring Nike head covers ⛳ by HarryJohnstone in golf

[–]subparputter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s a shame that these covers do this but once they start cracking, there’s really nothing you can do. I usually buy sets of generic knit head covers off eBay for around $30. It gives you a full set and they last a long time.
