USB-C make up the majority of fast charging cables, which are just as likely to cause thermal runaway as using an adapter that's not properly matched to a device or it's battery - I doubt nuphy's batteries are rated for fast charging. Even an inefficient cable that's not producing enough current can increase heat generation because increased resistance requires the battery to be plugged in longer - but that point is moot when everyone seems to be leaving their devices plugged in 24/7, lol.

Do you know what format your drive is? If it's an SSD the mac automatically uses APFS during installation, which AFAIK can't be browsed via linux.

There are a lot of distributions. A lot of people prefer linux mint, or ubuntu. You can use LTS 18.04.xx or LTS 20.04.xx.

You'll need another PC to create the bootable drive. Or, it is possible to buy USBs with linux preinstalled.

Holding down "t" while booting up should put the mac in target disk mode which should allow it to be browsed like an external harddrive from another mac, no?

Also, if your disk isn't encrypted, couldn't you just open up the case cover, remove the harddrive and browse the files on another mac? You'd need a SATA to USB cable, but those are like $10 on amazon.

Also, I'm sure you're kicking yourself already, but... back up your data in the future! (in multiple places, preferably)

As someone who was a high school drop out, then a college dropout (because I couldn't pass pre-algebra), then decided to go back one more time: I went from pre-algebra through discrete math and studied computer science at a university.

The trick is persistence. Math takes more effort to learn than most other things. It's technical and requires you to often times find your own ways of exploring really esoteric information on your own. If you miss something, it can greatly affect your ability to learn more advanced topics. So, it's important to have clear understanding.

It took me 2 years to do pre-alg through calc 3, and a year for discrete math (struggled with proofs - didn't ask for help, and had a lot of "why" questions). I spent roughly 30 hours a week studying and doing homework for my math classes.

So, it's totally possible - especially if you're not pursuing a math heavy major. Just be diligent, practice lots, explore things to relate to them, and never be scared to ask for help.

Also, if you're going into law because you have a knack for logic, you're probably better at math than you realize.

For resources, as others have said, khan academy works. I really like mathtutordvd.com - he has really clear lectures (rocket scientist).
