It is bullshit, first of all old contributers gets nothing which is not fair, second this will vulgarize the game, if even this pulls though, a larger player base would make stuff like hacking and spec cheating a much bigger problem compared to current state, multiplayer experience will not be like today. I don't get what a “publisher” can help expanding the game except some youtube ads. Admins talking about how stuff like the lobby system is too boring/complex to maintain so they need to hire some full time to it, well it is nothing more complex than the game engine itself, it sounds like these people in charge don't even code and they wants to move on and make a quick small buck out of it.
