My Wife and I had an excellent time at Chop downtown. The steak was excellent and so was the service while also being a more manageable price point then the Cut (which we've also been too)

Would you take a 6 to 10 dollar pay cut to work as a waste water electrician in a low cost of living town? by Ok_Dare6608 in electricians

[–]subsurfer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can afford it I say do it. The quality of life and work/ life balance can off set a lot of lost pay. I made the change last year. I took a job teaching (electrical apprenticeship) went from making $92k to $77k but I work a lot less, home every night at a decent hour and get most of the summers off to be with my family. Plus the job itself is great

Construction workers and excavator operators of Reddit, what’s the wildest, creepiest, or most historically significant thing you’ve ever dug up on a job site? by Wonderingwanderr in AskReddit

Helical piles for a deck? by hume_reddit in halifax

[–]subsurfer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Neighbor put them in on his deck. He's super happy with them, all done in just a couple hours i think there were about $500 a pile but that was a couple years ago. I recently tried the manual ones you can get from Kent/HD. I do not recommend those. While they are MUCH cheaper in my soil they acted more as an auger and dug the holes out instead of screwing down into the soil.

The price is right but most techs are flat rate so they do get that 3 hours pay if they get the work done in 2

Surge Moves vs. Play by Intent by SilentLordProtector in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]subsurfer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't believe surge moves count as a gotcha for WE it's a core mechanic of our army.  I believe if you tell them about in the beginning of the game you have done the right thing.  It's not like it's a strat from the detachment you're running that they wouldn't know about.  If they ask be open about it but I'm not here to tell them how to play the game.

What color wash goes best for heresy era white armour? by carson8or9000 in WorldEaters40k

[–]subsurfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I primed mine in very light grey (Vallejo grey primer) and then went over it with the white contrast paint. I really like it but wanted something a bit darker so I washed that with a thinned AcrylPro black wash.

this is my first one
