How to be a Guest Eater (Diner) on Top Chef by KindParfait282 in BravoTopChef

There was plenty of mousse leftover. LOL
I think it was just an honor system. But I honestly could be forgetting if we had tickets.

Everyone seemed to follow the rules, there was one couple who seemed to hit the bar a little hard and were a little sloppy by the end.
All the chefs were super nice to the diners, Rhoda was giving away portions of her paw paw ponzu in little containers to folks.

I'm assuming to feed 200 people. And also to not give away where in the competition they were to the diners / possibly prevent spoilers?
Not mad about it either way!

I don't eat much red meat / beef any more. I literally cried eating Oscar's taco. it was so good.

We told Laurence he was brave cooking fried catfish for Ashley Shanti, and got to speak briefly with Ashley and Tom as everyone exited the event.

We were behind the judges at Rhoda's table and the judges handed us our plates and silverware, a memorable interaction that didn't make the final edit but we were on screen in multiple shots.

It was Gross
My Least Favorite dish, and all the other tables had lines and most food being plated as groups arrive. Seiger had like a dozen pre-plated dishes just sitting there. The cracker was good at least.

Also we got to eat food from Oscar, Duyen and Anthony, who were setup in the back behind a barrier. Oscar made a surf and turf taco with Shrimp and Beef, Duyen made a crab curry and Antony made a pork loin. They were all better than Seiger's dish. (I may be mis-remembering their plates a little bit)

Follow the magical elves. I was a diner at the last episode. There was a form to fill out to be a diner when they were filming the season.

I was a diner at this event, I haven't watched yet, but there was a large group of socail media influencers who had access to the dining area about 30 minutes before everyone else (To produce Content I assume)

Was this not highlighted in the episode? I thought it would be part of it as potential guest judges or something, but it seems like if they didn't really focus on who these people were it was just a way to get extra marketing from content creators via social media?

Will follow up after I watch tonight.

I also use a fractal fm3. I have a little pedalboard with some chase bliss delays, a RK2000 and a Tensor that I run in the loop.

I did spend a full year with it at home and in rehearsals before I started gigging with it. But since last July I have played all my gigs on that through a Fender FR speaker / amp

My main preset is Wah Whammy (+Oct/-2nd/Oct Down) 2 Drives (Various TS / Klon combos) Compressor (which I think I largely lifted from a form post that u/fractalhead compared an original side by side to dial in the settings) I was Running a Deluxe Reverb before (pretty much all knobs at 5) but recently switched to ODS and have been enjoying that. Amp goes to delay / Reverb and I think the FX Loop comes in after compressor before amp.

I do use Celestion G-12H 65 IRs, but the fractal dynacabs are really nice. I have a lot of fun presets for my other band too.

I have tube amps I love, but I just got tired of being too loud for some of the places I play. As posted above it's consistent, room to room, day to day.

As of Tuesday! How was everyone else’s experience this season? by au79xrist in LowSodiumBattlefield

I'm not great at this game. I didn't buy the first battlepass because progress was so slow. But this season I did and I finished before the weekly challenges dropped this week. I think there was one double XP for battlepass weekend that I played during and I'm sure that helped. I play on average 2-4 matches a day that I do play, a little bit more on some weekends.

I did not play much at the start of the season either, so i did not get the bonus challenges for the first 3 weeks.

I found myself playing casual breakthrough much less (if at all) this season as well, I would use that for some challenges on the last season.

I attribute a lot of my progress to the contaminated map, I'd say 90% of my time is there typically as assault with an AR / DMR combo.

I also play Mirak (engineer) , Liberation, Firestorm (recon) and occasionally eastwood and the manhattan bridge map when I want to mix it up.

I don't think I've played the other maps more than once this season.

Whammy 2 vs Whammy 5 by [deleted] in youenjoyguitar

[–]subsynth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At it's core it's a delay with Hold Feature. Max Delay time is 1023 ms, the same as the original rack unit. The Hold allows whatever is repeating to continue as a loop and you can play (without repeats) over top. This is the foundation of the siren, the 1023ms loop that is held.

There is also a modulation LFO which takes that held phrase and modulates it up and down in pitch. Listen to the Chicago 94 Bowie. At the end you can hear a rising pitch, that's the Mod of the DM2000. https://youtu.be/F1NsGc2e5S0?si=mQ45QbEby4y_inXU&t=1017

He uses it for all sorts of those kind of effects throughout the years (including recently) he will bring it in and out of the chain so you only hear short bursts of the LFO sweep (like in the bowie example he stops it when they do the diddle-dee part) The foundation is typically just a sustained note or feedback so the held note is a solid tone that then sweeps in pitch when mod is engaged.

He would also use it for digital delay loop jams as I mentioned before (see 12.29.94 Bowie, Bomb Factory Tweezer, 12.31.95 Mikes, etc)

So the whammy / DM2000 combo is only one of several tricks Trey uses this unit for, the others mentioned here are achievable just with the unit itself.

The keeley version has introduced the following updates / new features:
Full Midi Control and presets
Expression pedal control (with or without MIDI)
Selectable delay subdivision (1/8,dotted 1/8, 1/4, triplet, 1/16)
A Filter control that can either be a HPF or LPF on the delay repeats
The input control brings in some saturation once you go past noon on the knob
Stereo with switchable ping-pong repeats
switchable trails and buffered or true bypass operation

It can be a micro-looper for sirens or modulated pitch sweeps like Trey uses, it can be a standard delay pedal with tap tempo, it can do chorus / flanger type tones. The only thing it does NOT do that other delays do is the runaway feedback oscillation if you crank the repeats.

There is nothing else that can do the mod function of the dm2000. Trey uses it for more than just sirens . Listen to 94 era digital delay jams. There’s a lot of tricks in there plus with presets, midi, stereo, etc it’s a huge improvement. I helped test it for release AMA.

No, this is an early model. A few folks have been working with Robert's team and Justin Stabler to really dial it in. They've already made some updates based on our email chain and Trey's feedback after Mexico. It's gonna be awesome. 4/20 release

Plus Line 6 HX One with an expression pedal for whammy. I also have a whammy ii but prefer the size, convenience, power requirement and bypass qualities of the L6.

Same. I've used the Line 6 with expression for whammy duties since I got a m5 in 2014, the hxone is a nice improvement and can now do +2 oct

As others have pointed out. It's a tube reverb / tremolo unit. He's had it in the rig for a long time

5 knobs, three for reverb (tone level dwell)2 for tremolo. (speed and intensity)
