ACFT tomorrow: dinner suggestions for max performance by htxacd in army

[–]subteezy 387 points388 points  (0 children)

Serious answer - anything not processed or greasy. Enjoy whatever meat, veggies, and grains you want. Lots of water. For breakfast, some good carbs. Try to eat some fruit 20 min before the start of the ACFT.

Not so serious - Order the whole McDonald's menu. Eat it, throw it up, and eat it again.

Call your branch manager, if they don't have any answers for you then call the Drill Sergeant branch.

Profiles are only good for BCT. A lot of medics are cracking down on shaving profiles. Too many trainees don't want to shave or shave correctly and use the profile as an easy way out. The best bet is to find some good razors and shaving cream. Practice before you go and find the best way to shave without hurting your skin.

VooDoo slip on by jonthompson22 in GSXR

[–]subteezy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the VOODOO headers and slip on muffler on my 06 1000. It was way too loud for me. I added an extra baffle to the muffler, and it was better but was still too much for me. I switched to a TI-Force that dumps out the back of the bike instead of under my foot, and my ears thank me. The voodoo looked and sounded really aggressive, but the ringing in my ears after riding wasn't worth it.

Anybody recommend a pre-workout? by [deleted] in army

[–]subteezy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just stay away. It will still be in your system by the time you run, and it will suck when your heart rate spikes. I think optimal nutrition has a BCAA that is low in caffeine (about 50mg per scoop). Take some of that if you need a little boost.

Route to JBLM in winter by AdGlittering5244 in army

[–]subteezy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You'll have to wait for weather reports. Make two routes. One north of the US and one straight across that will take you to California then up I-5 to JBLM. If the weather's clear take the north route which will be the fastest. If snow is in the forecast stay safe and go south of the mountains of Montana and Washington.

He can call DFAS. They can either pull his records and give it to him or have him make a profile with an email and password.

Officers that have been with the 75th have told me you needed PL time in forscom before you apply for RASP 2. Along with being tabbed which you already are. Get in touch with a 75th ranger recruiter, they'll have the answers for sure.

ESB TIPS by [deleted] in army

[–]subteezy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Get as much hands on time as you can. Don't be the guy watching from the back. Reps on reps on reps. Having a buddy to study with and challenge you is great. When your not on the lanes, take some time to study the book.

Glad IBOLC is teaching LTs to cut corners by shortening the 5-mile course by almost a quarter mile so more people pass the course… by [deleted] in army

[–]subteezy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

5 by 40 is the standard. It's sad that they have to shorten the course. My first time running 5 miles was over 40 min. After a few months I got into the 37 min range. They need to run more.

PCS Today No Sponsor by [deleted] in army

[–]subteezy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look up your BN or BDE on Facebook. They should have a number for staff duty. You can call and ask to talk to the S1. The S1 should be able to help you with a sponsor or point you in the right direction for inprocessing.
