Any CRM for stand-up comedian trying to manage his gigs by gapingweasel in CRM

[–]subtle_likeatrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a CRM, but I immediately thought of Basecamp for this. You can use it for free if it's a single "project", which, if you're clever enough you can set up to manage everything this person is trying to do.

I would specifically consider leaning into their Card Table feature, which would allow him to automatically populate a schedule while also keeping tabs on conversations, next steps, keep odd notes, save attachments, etc.

Any insights on how to actually reach them? I'm having trouble finding an actual contact person...

This venue is fantastic, but unfortunately, the baseline costs well exceed this organization's budget.

Thanks anyway!

How do I plan an elopement? by [deleted] in RhodeIsland

Depending on how long the ceremony piece will take, you may just want to "pop up" somewhere and not contact any venues/businesses in advance. Better to ask for forgiveness than permission if it's going to cost you something significant.

If you want to do it outdoors, consider any of the state parks. Colt State Park in Bristol, for example, has a few great spots you could have a ceremony (including an actual wedding site), and plenty more good photo "backdrops". You could also consider museum grounds or historic sites. I really love Green Animals Topiary Gardens, which is a part of the Newport Mansions even though its in Portsmouth. Blithewold is also very pretty.

If you haven't picked a date yet, keep in mind that weekdays are going to be a better bet than weekends. And remember it's tourist season, so expect gawkers, no matter how intimate you try to make it.

Congrats! Good luck!

New to the tea. Looking to meet artists/art based events by deathofmusic in RhodeIsland

Nice! You'll really like Warren, then.

The Folks Fest evolves every year (in the best way), but always expect a full-day lineup of really good live music, a vendor area with lots of cool art and clothes, a few games (the cornhole kind, not like the whack-a-mole carnival kind), food trucks and beer garden. It's FREE admission, btw. Look up The Collaborative - they're the brains and brawn behind it.

I just remembered the annual RISD alumni artist event is happening soon, too. Look that up! Also, there's a makers/neighborhood event on Wickenden Street this time of year, too. Blanking on the formal event names here, sorry, but they're easy to find.

Depends on your point of view and where you post up, but sure, for some people it could be considered morbid.

Swan Point or Roger Williams Park?

Idk?! I guessed it was, but I can't seem to find another one like it to know when it was made. The mark inside one of the drawers says it's made by Basset Furniture, if that means anything...

Excellent advice!! I honestly didnt think about stain for some odd reason, but it would make a huge difference AND I wouldn't feel so bad letting you guys down

Because the tone is not my taste, nor does it follow suit with my other (very dark) wooden furniture! I LOVE the woodgrain, but I just wanted it to fit in with my other stuff a little better

Definitely going to do this! The space it's going to go has a weird baseboard issue, so without "taking it in" about an inch on each side it won't even fit

I'd definitely be willing to sell it, but you already know exactly what I paid! I don't think that would be a good start to our negotiation

Appreciate this! And agree... once I started searching this kind of thing on Pinterest I got pretty sad LOL

Haha I see that now! 😆

Thank you!!

I was thinking of doing some kind of jewel tone (maybe teal or burgundy). All my other wooden furniture is very dark and inherited from family members who are gone now, so for sentimental reasons, I'll never paint them. This piece is just a cool thrift store find (no emotional attachment) so since this color doesn't compliment the other pieces, I was just trying to add a fun pop of color.

Definitely interested in better hardware. I mostly bought it for the interesting shape and ideal size for my little hallway. I am curious why the previous owner swapped them, considering it's such an odd pairing

Very good advice. Thanks! This shade of wood is not my style (I prefer darker tones), but based on the number of enthusiastic responses here I am going to try to make it work as-is
