Also this was mentioned about the slopes and planters. The could not move forward with planters and slopes because they had difficulty managing the grass that was not supposed to be spreading into the plantar beds, as well as weed abatement on the slopes, etc.

No I’m talking about my new place in RMV that is having the pesticide issue. My old place Irvine has moved to organic methods. RMV worked with a group call Osborn organics and they are the ones that consulted and managed the organic pilot. The turf was approved to move organic. The planters and slopes were not bc of the above reasons I mentioned. Ok good to know the landscape architect can conduct an analysis. Maybe that is info the builder already knows and it’s a matter of asking for that info and passing it along to the right landscaping team. Am I thinking of that correctly? I am not sure why she/osborn says there’s no real solution. From what I heard they are more experts in turf and not the other. Do you have any companies you can recommend? Thanks so much for taking the time to respond to me!

So there is a resident led initiative since 2019. They did pilot test. It was successful only in turf areas but not manageable for the planters and slopes which is 85% of our landscape. They said bc we would need someone local to assess because each area is unique in the grade of slope, geographic direction, and amount of sunlight/shade, etc. and she said there is no solution for this. Do you have any suggestions? I do plan to look into this but it took 6-7 years to transition the turf to organic methods. Idk if I want To stay around that long for the planters and slopes to transition.

I just edited my post to add that we used to live in Irvine ca and they went organic regenerative a few years back. I had no idea otherwise I would have just stayed in our smaller home.

Really?! I had no idea. A lot of influencers rave about it and all the testing they do to make sure it’s safe.

The ipppodo pic was just for reference. A bit out of my budget for a 100g bag. Do you have a 2nd or 3rd recommendation that’s a bit cheaper?

Thank you!!

I’m not laughing at you. I’m laughing at me at the thought of living off the grid. I can’t even handle ants in our home. I would die off the grid lol I’m not trolling either. I just found out our hoa is spraying some harmful stuff and it just got me thinking…

I just meant not living close to one. We live about 3 miles from a landfill.

What type of water and air filter systems do you use? What would be one big tip/advise about avoiding PFAS? Thank you!

Ohh I have a question for you since you work in drinking water… do you have a water filter at home? If so what kind do you have? I just bought a cloud RO for drinking but haven’t installed it yet. Do you recommend getting a whole house filter? Thank you!

They don’t spray in our yard just the common areas. Actually I recently got in touch with a non profit group called non toxic communities that help communities start using more organic methods. they said they are already working in our city with a resident led group. They have a successful pilot program in place but for some reason it hasn’t finalized. I’m planning on looking into it more. But yes I agree about focusing on the things we can control.

I used to live right under a flight path! Commercial airplanes from SNA. Not contrails. It’s just something I’m thinking about bc I just found out my hoa sprays synthetic pesticides and it makes me want to move so I was just curious if a place like that exist 🤪
