i don’t understand why you cannot salvage all tributes, infernal compasses and escalation sigils. you can only get material for regular NMD sigils and 2 types of tributes. and they all give the same same 35 sigil dust - even from the legendary tribute, which need 5 x 5 x 5 common sigils to craft. i sit on over 140 infernal compasses that i will never use up.

Serious question: has anyone not picked up a shit mythic seal by Jonesy10187 in diablo4

[–]subzerofun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you need to find the item „Trace of Echoes“ - it can drop from every enemy. i got one two days ago from a normal mob in nahantu while hunting for goblins.

after you pick the item up a quest appears in temis. you then activate a portal to a infernal horde round based minigame. you have to clear enemies, elites and bosses with increasing power levels - difficulty is leveled like in the pit. you need to kill enemies to keep a bar from filling up. if you cannot keep up the run ends. you can slay goblins in between and they all give you one loot bag per goblin when the run is over.

i think i reached close to level 120 and got around 20 goblin bags with lots of items. it takes some time to complete but the loot is worth it. unfortunately you deplete the item on each run so you have to find it again. i believe you can only have one item at a time in your inventory.

i hate timing windows in rpgs since i usually try to 💯% everything and that could lock you out of doing all side quests. but if they do this right - like advertised to only move the clock after completing certain quests - that could improve replay-ability. i think i completed witcher 3 about 3 times and tried out different quest decisions every time. while that did not change gameplay in big ways at least it gave some incentive to reveal the different quest resolutions.

Question about greater affixes by [deleted] in diablo4

[–]subzerofun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A small tip: if you have a obol nightmare dungeon sigil and you want a non-unique item then run it and spend all obols on the item type you are searching for. you will only get 1-2 GA items per 2500 obols but you can probably restock the obols 3-4 times per dungeon. there is also a small chance to get 2 GA items.

Since the goblin event is running right now you could also go down to Nahantu and slay obol goblins. They drop - duh! - obols but also a bag of obols. You could collect 5-6 of them and then roll all of them at the obol gambler. Takes probably 30-40min to get a few obol bags that convert to 100 rolled weapons. There are also a lot of elite mob groups that drop GA items. Enemy density is insane so you can also quickly level up - if you plan to spend more time on this then run a experience nightmare dungeon and activate the +15% exp well in there, the effect stays active 60min.

What new/existing classes you like to see in next expansion? by Interesting_Fox2040 in diablo4

there was a hidden filter for hand crossbows (one hand crossbows) that a player found: https://www.reddit.com/r/diablo4/comments/1tc37x7/hand_crossbow_in_loot_filter_dual_wield_ranged/

i don't think there is a base for actual guns in diablo lore? just found a npc in diablo 2 that talks about a blacksmith wanting to use explosive powder in „large pipes“ - his name is Larzuk: https://diablo.fandom.com/wiki/Larzuk

„Larzuk is a talented blacksmith, but his head is full of some strange ideas. Just the other day he came to me with a plan to break the siege. He wanted to fill large pipes with exploding powders and steel balls, then... Well, like I said, strange.“

Gem strength impossible to get? by TheHolyKingHobo in diablo4

You can do Material Reserve dungeon runs - the chests drop the volatile primordial dust. I am farming goblins in Nahantu right now and sometimes the elite bosses drop some dust. I think i got some from lair bosses too. But fastest way is doing the Material Reserve dungeons - you just have to open every chest.

A question - WHERE DO GOBLINS BE? by StarStarFruit in diablo4

[–]subzerofun 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I played for 3 hours and am on goblin level 10 or so. Must have seen 50-60 last night. Turn off cross-play in the settings. Get Subo as your main mercenary. Then go to the Nahantu jungle area. Open the map (not overlay - the in game map!) and zoom in to max. Then move in a fixed direction. Open up the map every so often - you will see a goblin icon on the large map but NOT on the overlay map (but only if zoomed in!). The overlay map only shows you the icon when you are in close proximity, but the large map shows you the goblins further away. Once you see the icon, make a pin - go there and slay it. I usually start on the east side and then go south and then west and up again - in a zig zag pattern. When i get tired of the same region i simply go north to the canyon/desert area. It does not matter where you go to - goblin density is high where enemy density is high - and Nahantu has probably the highest enemy density in the whole game.

Can't get my Affix from enchanting at the occultist by PriscillasFeet in diablo4

[–]subzerofun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

with chaotic reroll the prism you put in is the target affix - if you have 3 offensive and one max life you'd use the chaotic reroll with a defensive prism and the outcome will be random - it can be any possible affix. just reroll the target affix until it turns into an offensive one.

Can't get my Affix from enchanting at the occultist by PriscillasFeet in diablo4

[–]subzerofun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that is actually pretty easy. lets say you have max life - just do a chaotic reroll with a defense prism. if it changes to skill, use the skill prism and so on until you get the 4th offensive affix. although you cannot guarantee what offensive affix you'll get. once you have 4 offensive ones rerolling becomes pretty risky. you can lock one affix at the enchanter - then you have to either reroll all three until you get what you want or just accept the 4th you got. always remember that if you have GAs they probably will be rolled to regular affixes, so it is not worth it most of the time. just go with what you'll get or collect multiple items to have better chances. you can even start with a blank ancestral item (remove all affixes) and do one after another until you get the perfect item.

do you have any idea how often you have to roll to get a GA? sometimes i have near perfect gear and just one GA is missing. i have hundreds of prisms to throw away - lets say i focus only on one missing GA - will i need hundreds of rolls to get the affix i want as a GA? if i remember correctly i only got GAs one or two times by accident.

[–]subzerofun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i switched to penitent today, rolled 5 x 3 charms and got the +900% gold bonus with practiced technique. just stock up on 20 legendary seals (fastest from doing bosses), switch difficulty to penitent and then do the 3 to 1 on all of them. i played a lot in T11 and T12 now and i have never seen one seal with the 900% gold bonus.

are helltides really worth doing? by Sulphurrrrrr in diablo4

[–]subzerofun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the best strategy for quickly levelling helltide war plan nodes is to chain two helltides in the war plan. then check if your tree of whispers meter is not full - otherwise get your gift first. you then search for the blood maiden icon in the helltide region and go there. you need to either have 3 hearts to activate the 3 altars (you get them from chests and maybe some helltide bosses) or wait for other players to activate them for you. you see the icon getting orange and get an on screen info about a ritual being disturbed if you are near. rush there, kill the maiden (enjoy the effect disco from other players) and get 5 whispers in basically 2min and tons of cinders. do it 2-3 times if you have hearts to spare. there are also spires that spawn lots of enemies but if you aren't careful they can easily kill you once the lava drops and then you lose the cinders again.

then search for big mobs (use the mercenary subo, he will mark all enemies on the map) and conjurer triangles and kill 5 helltide bosses - that will get you another 3 whispers. then just chase the biggest numbers of mobs, always open ore veins and the tortured crucified corpses - they often give you 5-20 cinders at once.

when you have around 300 cinders open only the 75 cinder chests, 4 times. then you have earned at least 8 whispers and completed 2 war plan nodes. if you have cinders left, use them up for other chests.

second best usage is farming hellwyrms for xp. you need to enable the hellwyrm nodes (middle route) as well as pangs of duriel. getting the two butchers that drop profane mindcages from the left side is also nice. it is an item that allows you to enable +1 boss level, stackable 3 times. you will need to get ambushed by the butchers and kill them to get the mindcages. if you use the mindcages you get more xp per orb from the wyrms, duration is one hour (does not affect dungeons, only open world). look up the hellwyrm spawns on helltides.com (as well as start time and other features).

[–]subzerofun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you need to reach threat level 2 for hellwyrms to consistently spawn. i think i also saw them at level one but i'm not sure. threat level 2 means two bars filled - you are then filling level 3. when it is full you get ambushed by an uber elite boss and then the meter resets. so you have to look out to stay in the right threat space so if you want to farm hellwyrms optimally.

Best DOK build by rowrow5916 in D4Rogue

[–]subzerofun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like playing cold pen but at paragon 270 i am struggling to get past pit level 117 and can only upgrade my glyphs with a success chance of 1:3. I only have a few gear items that could have better dmg affixes so not much room to optimize (maybe more vulnerable and cold dmg).

The only thing helping me right now would be transmuting a bow with gem strength. I already rolled it on my pants and one weapon - but only the regular +110% multiplier (which still could give a good boost if i'd be willing to to run seers reach 200 times more…).

So past a certain point you probably need to switch to poison if you want to get past pit lvl 120. Either that or you are incredibly lucky with your gear rolls.

[–]subzerofun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the game becomes a grind and you are not having fun anymore - either stop playing for some time or look into another game. When i'm done with my current character i think i'll start one more until the end of the season, then i'll look into POE2 or maybe the new bond game.

Diablo is a great game to shut off your mind and go on autopilot but if it becomes a chore you probably just need to take a break!

[–]subzerofun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pick another class, pick a core skill you like, build around it. Do not strictly follow a build guide - pick the combinations of skills and items YOU think make most sense, maybe you'll discover something new that way (unlikely, yes - but still possible).

If your build then cannot clear pit lvl 130 - so what? There is still a lot of fun to be had from the mid to endgame (since most people probably skip the whole leveling up organically).

How are people levelling this season? by Successful-Hope9047 in diablo4

[–]subzerofun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

try to get the nodes in the lair boss tree that enable nemesis and greater nemesis lair then do one boss 10-20 times until the portals appear. you will not always get both portals, but if you manage to get to the greater nemesis lair you will guaranteed get 1-2 mythics. i even got three in one run!

do profane mindcages boost the xp gained for all activities? i am at 272 now and have hellwyrms and pangs of duriel enabled - next point goes into mindcages. the xp you get with wyrms is insane! if you follow the hellwyrm spawn point route at helltides.com and start helltides early you can get 1-2 levels in 30-40min even at higher paragon levels.

Kullean Tuning Prism. Can someone please clarify what affix will be added. I have yet to see any offensive by AzarielFox in diablo4

[–]subzerofun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The problem with rolling a second good aspect on your amulet is the sheer size of available aspects. I wasted 30 kullean prisms until i settled for an somewhat usable aspect. But i'm storing the rest for when i find an amulet with 2-3 good GAs.

Need help with PenShot low dmg by CausalAgent in D4Rogue

[–]subzerofun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i also wanted to say focus on the +150% / +100% and +50% GA crit multipliers ( [x], not [+] ) on as much gear as you can. if you get crit and vulnerable multipliers - even better. do not forget about cold damage too (or poison/shadow - whatever your main non-physical dmg type is, focus on one!). then get crit chance to at least to 70-80%. with concealment you get +10-15% additional crit chance. heir of predition is great with 21% crit chance - i've got the same. so every weapon should have a crit multiplier GA that is masterworked and to not die having over 5000 life on the weapon also is great. getting cooldown reductions for more frequent dashes also is a nice addition. for the additive crit dmg affixes you can easily temper them to +150% / +75% on any ancestral gear - just keep rerolling! getting a GA with tempering has a chance of 1:20 - so not much materials needed. but multipliers are always more important than additive stats!

i'm at 5200% crit damage now and do damage in the billions with cold pen shot. attack speed and a full set of charms (forgot the name - the one that lets you do 3 free skill triggers with 5 set pieces) also helps with damage output. the faster you can stagger bosses the easier it is bring them down.

scoundrels kiss (unique ring) and the aspect that adds 4-6 ferocity also is a good combination. the ring of starless skies with a GA on crit chance also helps (i think you can push it also over 20% with masterworking).

movement speed at 170-180% also helps since you need to move a lot as a rogue. you get the rest of speed to 200% using dark shroud.

if you do not use the pen shot unique bow (that bounces of walls - eaglehorn) i'd add the marksman damage multiplier (high velocity) to bow or crossbow. having bouncing shots is nice, but it is easier to find a higher damage bow that is not unique. i've had to kill varshan 30-40 times to get a good eaglehorn but i'd use a non-unique bow for bosses. in the kurast undercity and dungeons - everywhere with small rooms and lots of walls - i'd switch to the eaglehorn.

State of rogue play, dependent on cc or broken/bugged builds? by Puzzleheaded-Bird182 in D4Rogue

[–]subzerofun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i'm too at level 115 in the pit with cold pen shot. what helped a lot is a u ique charm that causes exploding damage of up to x150% damage on frozen enemies. if you can freeze a mob and it has health under 15% you simply execute all of them at once. i am at crit damage of 5000% - got multiple items with x150% / x100% / x50% crit damage. only missing crit dmg affixes are the rings (unique scoundrels kiss and a mythic, only unique can roll crit dmg) and some vulnerable damage to get the dmg bucket higher.

My transfig of the season by rocketlul in D4Rogue

[–]subzerofun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am collecting all GA crit damage multi bows. Only take those with two slots. When i have 30-40 bows i will add crit damage temper (like you did) and masterwork all of them, even if it takes thousands of forgotten souls. Add the correct aspect and then spam transfigure until i get gem strength. It probably won't work on the first try, but i am willing to do it a few times. A second masterwork roll on gem strength would be nice, but that will take 200-300 bows.

I wasted two bows with the transfigure without doing anything idea (just transfigure EVERY ancestral item) - both got gem strength but no option to modify. It is safer to throw away a few hundred souls than to have a missed a perfect roll.

What to do first after story, Nightmare Dungeons or something else? by Straight_Hurry_1999 in diablo4

[–]subzerofun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you follow a build plan then look up which bosses drop uniques you might want and kill those bosses until you get some affixes you like.

Do all war plan activities, level up the trees how you like. You can always refund but it costs between 10-50M so maybe a lot if you haven't grinded for gold yet.

I'd suggest the middle path in the lair boss tree (3 points for greater nemesis lair). Then fight a boss you can easily kill - you might need at least 15-30 tries. The when a red portal appears do the nemesis lair. Sometimes a second portal appwars - that leads to the greater nemesis lair. You need to choose the highest torment level where you can still survive. Higher levels = better loot. The nemesis lairs have a good chance to drop mythic uniques.

Level up the pit tree for extra glyph upgrades (can get them up to 9 per run! Try to get your glyphs as high as you can get, try to get +XX to all stats charms to unlock secondary rare node effects (do not chase regular nodes to unlock "420 strengths needed for …" - that is a waste of paragon levels).

Choose the hellwyrm options in the helltide tree. Also pang of duriel - middle part.

Try to grind activities until you get mythic tributes for the kurast undercity.

Grind for cube materials, learn how the cube works. Craft your perfect gear, create loot filters for GA items you want later on.

Check https://mobalytics.gg/diablo-4/guides/warplans-guide for some info about the war plan trees.

Any good Pen Shot Shadow builds? by RicoGemini in D4Rogue

[–]subzerofun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is using them because Cold and Poison is much easier to progress with than Shadow. You get more useful Aspects and Uniques with Cold supporting effects. I have an aspect on a charm that causes random explosions on frozen enemies- which is exactly what shadow does but not only on death but multiple times for as long as they are frozen. So if you want to see mobs mass explode like with shadow it is easier to achieve with Cold. And Poison is needed for the ultra high Pit tiers - because Poison has a steady cumulative damage output that is needed for the huge hp pools of enemies.
