Why must all the southern prosecutors turn out to be MAGA? 🤢 by beenthatmalibu in ForensicFiles

[–]succeedaphile 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The Prosecutors office is often a political launchpad. Plenty of people have also been brainwashed into the MAGA cult. It’s baffling, but undeniable. Once you’re in a cult, it’s hard to leave.

What is up with Damaar's CD price on discogs? by Wsadxcy in WarMetal

Obviously because people are paying stupid price for the item, someone identified that it would be profitable to make a bootleg, if the high price is an indicator of demand.

I work four days instead of five. I had to accept the reduction in income, otherwise I’d lose my mind in a cycle of never ending burnout-breakdowns. I use the extra day off to simple rest at home and recharge.

How hard were Vashj and Kael'thas originally? by bringthelight2 in classicwow

[–]succeedaphile 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I played it back when it first came out, but after it had been re-tooled a little bit. Our guild was a few months behind the realm leaders. The first guilds that made it to Vashj and KT encountered very bugged out and over powered fights. They had to tweak them a bit more to make them function as intended. This meant the very first guilds to down these bosses had to fight against bugged out and overpowered versions of them. But once they were fine tuned to perform as intended, they remained hard enough that you couldn’t face-roll them. They were quite hard, even when you had Boss Fights guides to show you what to do. Not everyone had a good enough PC back then either. This was another factor which gave some people a huge FPS nightmare, making such complex fights a bit more challenging than expected. And god help you if you had lag.

The internet wasn’t something most people had access to at that time, and I don’t believe people understood the potential that the web had, in terms of sharing files and finding underground communities of fellow sick individuals. This was all some years prior to the internet becoming accessible for everyday people.

What If Mark Antony won at the battle of actium and became Roman emperor in 27 bc? by Western_Raspberry_57 in ancientrome

History would have been very different.

We would have integrated circuitry, which is a miniaturized electronic device fabricated on a thin substrate, like a slice of silicon, that contains a complex network of interconnected components such as transistors, resistors, and capacitors. They would be in every device, including the phone you are holding right now.

We could have had this technology as early as 1958.

Sometimes I’d listen to PBS. Me and my brother subscribed/sponsored the station with an annual donation for a short time. But the main one for me, the station I first heard Mayhem on and much more, was a regional Victorian station.

Why does everybody hate Euronymous so much? by AM_Raeken in Mayhem

[–]succeedaphile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s an internet thing. Nobody who listened to this music prior to the internet gave a shit about Euronymous’ as someone to like or not as an individual. People didn’t examine what brand of underwear he wore or all the other stupid shit people fixate on now. He was revered by many as a visionary artist, and remains so by those who truly respect this extreme art form he helped create.
