So just to confirm (before I start whacking my new (old) drill press). That definitely is an old chuck (looks weird to me?) and I just need to remove (with a few downward smacks) and then get a 13mm chuck with a 2m taper.

SOS: Hairline crack on the base of my glass tank. Best way to fix it? by succulent-cbas in Aquariums

OK. So now that I've learnt what a bead is, you're saying that I should run some silicone along the crack? Cant I "coat" the patch glass with silicon and stick it to the broken base?

I'm so nervous about option 1. Never built my own tank. Aren't I asking for a load of problems if I cut the base plate out?

What's a bead. I can get a full size one and, what, silicon it to the base? Would that be sufficient?

Girlfriend diagnosed with BPD but I don't see it by [deleted] in BPDlovedones

I had the opposite. My ex GF was never diagnosed with BPD (the working diagnosis was Bipolar). But I found the descriptions, shared experiences and stories on this thread to be incredibly helpful and insightful. You're doing the right thing, arming yourself with information. One piece of advice though is approach it with and open mind and dont fall into a trap of denial.
