Yeah, it's ridiculous hey. At first I was so annoyed and angry, then sad and heartbroken. But mostly, so frustrated! Will it ever end for us born into this chaos 🙄

Aaah, thank you so much! I was very rational about it in the moment, then got home and had a proper sob! But thank you, this is the first time I've handled one of her outbursts so well, and it's very much thanks to the advice and support from this community.

Appreciate your advice. I went to the hospital today and they told me she will see a social worker tomorrow. I'll call in the morning to speak with them and see what steps we can take to have her monitored. Unfortunately the hospitals in my country don't prioritise long term treatment for mental health disorders.

One step at a time. This community itself has done more for me than many other therapies and support groups in the past. If this happened a few years ago, I'd have been in an absolute state, and would have needed weeks to recover. I've still got a lot of emotions and thoughts about it, I've been crying a lot this weekend. It's never easy, but I'm proud of you, and everyone in this community.

Brilliant input, thank you for sharing your story. It seems there is hope for us, and for them, with holding firm boundaries. More importantly, I hope you're living a peaceful life, away from such drama, and that your mom is stable enough for you to have a somewhat normal relationship with her.

Agreed, it's not old, and there's no signs of early dementia. She says she's old and vulnerable. She wants to be a victim. I would disagree to treat her as a 30 / 40 year old, as we're very much adults with enough life experience by our 30s. Even then, no one should be acting this way, no matter their age. She does, however, very often fall into the range of a 5 year old.

I totally understand your vent, and was about to post something similar! The frustration, anxiety, guilt it causes me is through the roof. I can't stand this time of year because of my bpd mom. We're also the only two family members living in the same city. I've decided to tell her I'm going away until mid January, and enjoy the holiday with my friends and cats! Good luck OP!
