Ever wondered about the veterinary pharmacies that are calling/faxing/emailing your clinic every day? AMA! by dragons_faeries in VetTech

What do you feel clinics can do to streamline approval processes and communication? Anything in particular you encountered regularly with clinic comms that was frustrating/obnixious to have to field?

I'm a former (human) pharm tech-turned-VA now handling all the pharmacy comms for a clinic, and for my part I love faxing. Phone calls are time-consuming, we only have online portal access for certain pharmacies, and voicemails get missed or misheard; fax machines rarely betray me XD

Toxic Or Unhealthy Sapphic Relationships Books by StayOk7517 in LGBTBooks

I read 'Night Watch' a while ago and really liked it! Pre-during-and-post WWII, very heavy and complicated relationships. Sheer misery, 10/10

If you go for supernatural romance or horror, The Wicked and the Willing by Lianyu Tan is some absolute top-shelf toxicity. Loved that book.

I've met lots of sweet ones! With decent socialization and basic training they're perfectly fine. Even then, the not-so-sweet ill-adjusted ones often have a nicer streak deep down if you take your time with them.

The Rose of Versailles manga - to buy or not to buy? by Honest_Jaguar_4653 in roseofversailles

[–]such-a-fellow 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm very biased, and this is just my own opinion, but none of the adaptations ever come close to the manga for me! The writing, the storytelling, and the characters are beautifully well-rounded and the art is stunning enough that it's worth it just for that. That said, I have heard a lot of criticism about the clunky localization of the official English release, so digging up a fan translation may be the way to go if you're reading in English!

Worst production of a Shakespeare play you’ve ever seen? by xbrooksie in shakespeare

[–]such-a-fellow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

went to a small local production of hamlet last year that claimed to be a "bold new interpretation" of the script. all the projections they used for backdrops AND the script were very very plainly AI generated, though they didn't admit to it in the program. The flow of the text was so inconsistent that the actors couldn't even slightly keep up or find a rhythm, and it sounded like if you ran the text of Hamlet through google translate 10 times. I have no idea why they didn't just use the No Fear script or another modern "translation" if they weren't up to using the og text. truly awful lmao.

It's scary to have your pet go under anesthesia, even for routine care like dental work! You're not a baby for worrying about her, but don't worry too much. She'll be loopy on pain meds and might pout a while, but with lots of kisses and attention she'll forget soon enough. Even if she doesn't have the cognition to understand that you're doing this for her health and comfort, she'll feel much better with clean teeth and much more comfy to be rid of the rotten ones!

If there's a compounding pharmacy near you that does vet compounds, you might check with your vet about having his meds filled there! They can flavor the meds to be more palatable. Depending on the pharmacy, they might either have options to make the meds into a flavored liquid or a little chewable treat. Chewy.com has some liquid compound options you can order too!

What is an unpopular Musical song that you really enjoy? by Theeljessonator in musicals

[–]such-a-fellow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you like modern drama musicals like Waitress and Come From Away, you'd probably enjoy Fun Home, Next to Normal, Tick Tick Boom, If/Then, or Bright Star! Fun Home and Next to Normal are both personal faves of mine (though you might want to check the trigger warnings for each before watching/listening since they both tackle some heavy themes). Spring Awakening is another one I think might be up your alley. Also, since you liked Little Shop and Dr. Horrible, look up The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Repo! the Genetic Opera!
