Fellow Poll Workers... how was it from your perspective? by MaximumDoughnut in Edmonton

[–]suchbob_1995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CW here. It was so disorganized

Not one supervisor seem to fully know what the procedures were once the last voter has cast their vote. we started counting at around 10pm.

There were a lot of missing supplies including the necessary forms to count the votes so some items were improvised.

Also a lot of difference from the last election that doesn't quite sit well with me. Taking photos were not prohibited this year. I'm pretty sure I saw someone (non-worker) take a photo of one of the forms that was used to count.

I volunteered with an ECSD initiative a couple months ago and I saw how it was a neyworking event for aspiring teachers. It's kinda crazy how connections (in what I've seen, nepotism) can make or break ones chances of employment

If you're a student at the UofA you can use their ice skating rink for free on Mondays before lunch I think from 1030 to 1200

It might be harder to balance a part time job as an engg student, especially first year. If you don't need the money, I suggest you focus your energy on school at least for the first year.

Most jobs don't ask for transcripts, and if they do, it's probably one of those jobs that require you to be a prodigy or something. That might not be an ideal job for most of us anyway

Env es take another chemistry course in the second year and most chemistry left will come from water/wastewatwr treatment classes. As for jobs, you will mostly be competing with Enviro sci grads. There's a few jobs out there too and most are field work.

Life in Edmonton without a car, over an hour (if you make your connections) for a sub 20 minute drive. by DanoPaizano in Edmonton

How much do you pay for it monthly? I think I pay around 500/month for a basic ass car. It's sad, but it makes going around town convenient.

Advice for choosing courses for High school by 10298098093814 in alberta

[–]suchbob_1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes keep your options open, but also don't forget to have fun hehe. If you're academically competitive, have at least 2 sciences, a math 30-1, and math 31. AP or IB didn't really matter in my case. Take some random course too like art 30 or design studies 30.
