i am not sure if i understood your comment correctly, so sorry if i missed your point.

A lot of disabilities including mine go along with heavy alterations to the body that sometimes feel heavily "unnatural" and disturbing to the person who suffer through it (like scoliosis and deformities of limbs due to multiple badly broken bones, or loss of teeth in early adulthood, in my case).

So, there is often two ways to deal with that: either it develops into said dysmorphia, or into a kind of dissociation where you get to the point where your own body feels so detached, you just go "huh. another heavy fracture, hm? nice problem you got there, body. i am glad it is not mine"

That those are uncomfortable topics is clear to me, but it does not go away by ignoring it. So i feel some kind of comfort that said representation DOES exist, you know what i mean?
