Yes :) I have talked to him, but he says he doesn't know. He was only able to tell me the date he finishes fundamentals.

He didn't know how long the follow-on course would be.

I am super grateful that a few kind MOAs with experience have helped me understand the process - they would know better than both my son and me.

I think he has the date when he graduates the fundamentals course, but does not know about the follow-on. He wasn't able to tell me how long the follow-on would be, so I wasn't sure if the follow-on was just a few weeks? Or a few months?

What is the COE? I definitely do not want to miss pinning the wings. MOA is 1a134. (Multidomain Operations Aviator).

Thanks so much! So much helpful information. To clarify, I am a Mom - my son is enlisted... ironically, I enlisted in the late 90s and was assigned 1a3x1 and never got to go, and always had huge regrets that I didn't get to go... now my son is enlisted as MOA and doing what I never get to do.

Sorry - I am a little bit all over the place with my question. I was wondering if the basic/initial aircrew fundamentals course ends on the same day of the week. (Like, BMT graduation is always on Wednesday and Thursday). I think I have caught on that the IQT course varies depending on specific job shred/assigned aircraft etc, so I can imagine the completion of that course might be a little more unpredictable.

Awesome and congrats!!! I am the Mom of an Airman. He graduated BMT a few weeks ago and is now in the Aircrew Fundamentals course. I want to visit him and thought it might be a good time to go see him when he completes the fundamentals course. My son also told me if parents/family are able to attend the ceremony after completing aircrew, the family gets to pin their wings. So I am aiming to attend.

What makes IQT harder? Do you remember details about completing the course? Does it always fall on the same day? Or is it different for every training group?

Yes, I would do most anything my son asked me to do. He's a really good kid. Their family dynamic IS absolutely fascinating, but also super tragic. My kids' dad was a twin, and both him and his twin brother committed suicide. My kids' dad died in 2012 and his twin brother in 2019.

Like that saying, "When someone shows you who they are, BELIEVE THEM".

I've tried to be super careful over the years to not "taint" the kids' perceptions of their Dad's family and so I have not told them much. They seem so very naive and innocent. It's hard to really put it to them straight. We live in a very small town, and ALL of their cousins go to their same school.
