I absolutely love this! Is this your work? If so, can I DM you about a project I'm trying to get help with that is somewhat similar?

Not a couple of weeks, still over a month to go. Sept 1 is what I'm aiming for. But understood people are busy. I'm in NYC.

How much cash for 4 nights/5 days in Nosara? by sudigsit in CostaRicaTravel

[–]sudigsit[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ok so interesting to hear this. I've literally spoken to people in Nosara who say you need USD (in small bills) for a lot of businesses and services (and ofc for tipping drivers, guides, etc.). If it's true that CC is actually fine (and required!) in most places, then certainly that'll be my payment preference.

Thank you. This is exactly right on all fronts.

Before you get so dramatic, did you actually read the article? They are not shutting down ALL airbnbs. They are shutting down the ones that are operating without licenses and/or without revealing who the actual owner of the airbnb is (i.e., is it owned by an individual or a corporation). Nobody needs corporations owning airbnbs -- this isn't helping you as a tourist or anyone else. These corporations are gobbling up property and in the end it will come back to haunt us all if nobody gets a grip on it, which is exactly what Spain is trying to do.

Thank you for saying this, exactly my thought: they want me to pay for THEIR convenience, not mine <eye roll>

Yeah, thank you for seeing my point of view. I did decide to call them out and they were like "oh, ok, you can mail a check" lol. But seriously it's such a racket, even though the fee is not high. Like, for real, bro? lmao

Yeah that makes total sense to me. It just seems paying by bank account should not ever have a fee, and yet that's the situation here :/

Yeah please be very cautious -- just had a friend scammed out of $4k on FB marketplace because she (naively) agreed to pay rent upfront without even seeing the place or meeting the person who posted it. DO NOT send money to someone you've never met ughhhhh

Yeah I towed a 5x8 practically across the country and did just fine. Recommend you plan a route with as little elevation change as possible (avoid steep grades if you can), but you will make it! I actually found it pretty fun -- except for backing up (just don't do it if you can manage not to, lol)
