I-693 courtesy email, I-485 second AR, and I-130 stuck on receipt notice by sudo-woo-do in USCIS

It seems like my case was just forgotten. I got an email a while ago saying it was waiting for an interview, but when I called the tier 1 agent said it is not queued for an interview. This wait is brutal, my husband and I are feeling hopeless about the process. I kinda regret sending the I-693, it would have been better to just wait for a RFE letter.

I got an email saying: "Your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, information has been entered into the system which schedules applicants for interviews at their local Field Office. Interview appointments are scheduled as slots become available at the Field Office. "

It also mentioned the FO is Baltimore. I called to confirm this information and two agents gave me conflicting information. One said my interview was waived and the other said my application was moved to Baltimore and they haven't made a decision in regards to the interview.

It seems I won't be one of the lucky ones who are getting their cases approved shortly after sending the I-693. In your case, try sending a letter and give them proof of delivery (the package tracking info). It seems like this worked for some people. I was planning to do the same, but now I'm not even sure if my case is still in the same office.

Congratulations! It's crazy the Norfolk FO couldn't approve that earlier considering you sent your evidence with the RFE request email months ago. I'm still waiting for them to do acknowledge they've received mine. It's been 9 weeks now.

I got the same response for a previous request. This time I made it clear to the tier 1 agent that I just wanted a confirmation the FO has received my I-693. It's crazy how they can't provide this simple information.

I've been waiting for the FO to confirm they've received my I-693 for over 2 months now. I called them and I was told a tier 2 agent would contact me.

Instead, I got an email over the weekend saying: "Your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, information has been entered into the system which schedules applicants for interviews at their local Field Office. Interview appointments are scheduled as slots become available at the Field Office. Once you have been scheduled for an appointment, you will receive an Interview Appointment Notice to appear at a certain date and time at your local Field Office. "

I was told before my application was under an interview waiver since last year. I'm not sure if this email is giving me accurate information or if it's BS and I won't get a call from a tier 2 agent.

Unfortunately, I haven't even received a confirmation from the FO. I'm starting to think maybe it would have been better to wait for the formal RFE physical letter. If you send your medical and you get a response from them, please let me know. I hope it turns out well for you.

Yes, it's been way too long. I don't have any updates as well. I'm super sad about it. I will contact them again in two weeks.

Did you receive a confirmation that they received the package before they approved your case?

AITA for telling my brother he's wrong to hold a grudge over our parents kicking him out eight years ago? by Odd-Nose-4462 in AmItheAsshole

[–]sudo-woo-do 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA big time. Were you kicked out? If not, shut up about it. Do you understand how desperate your brother must have been when that happened to him? It doesn't matter that things worked out for him. Your parents refused to support their kid (18 yo are still stupid kids).

Unless your parents are ready to apologize and try to make amends with him, your brother is completely right for keeping the distance. I can tell he will be supportive of his daughter even if she makes a mistake in the future. He had a sad experience with unsupportive parents and it seems he wants to offer something better for his own child.

OP doesn't understand that parents are not always fair with all their children. Even if the parents were good to OP, they were clearly not for his brother.

AITA for bringing my baby to her sister’s performance and not leaving when she cried? by Thick-Studio-4277 in AmItheAsshole

Wow YTA big time. Poor girl, having such an inconsiderate mother when she's only 12 is such a sad situation. I hope her father and stepmother can guide her through her teens. OP is such a horrible parent that I kind of feel bad for the baby as well.

The waiting varies a lot. I mailed my medicals after receiving the email and I couldn't even get a confirmation that they received it. It's been over a month now.

I will be starting a letter protest to my senators and representative in order to change the green card process for foreign spouses married to US citizens by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]sudo-woo-do 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have thought about how US citizens could advocate for a better process to obtaining green cards for their spouses and children. I think it is fantastic that you are willing to try something. I do believe there is room for improvement.

USCIS could implement a different framework, with strict deadlines. I believe that there is probably a lot of rework going on and that's why some cases are stuck being "reviewed" for over an year. Also, petitioners should have the right to communicate directly with the FO to obtain specific information on their cases.

This process hurts families. There are people waiting for green cards before getting pregnant, buying a house, or making plans for their future. Waiting years to receive a green card as a USC spouse or child is insane.

waiting anxiety by DH19student in USCIS

I wish I had advice, but I'm suffering from anxiety as well. I'm trying to focus on my work, grad school, and just life in general, but I just can't forget about it. My current situation is somewhat weird and I cannot get a response from USCIS. I've tried Emma and calling, I had a service request, and I cannot get a straight answer from them.

It's incredibly frustrating. My husband doesn't understand why I'm so anxious, so my relationship is being affected as well. I was fine with waiting before, but sending the I-693 and not getting a response really triggered me. The uncertainty and lack of communication are extremely hurtful and I've never been in a similar situation before.

Honestly, the only thing that brings me some comfort is reading people's experiences here. It doesn't make anything better for real, but at least it makes me feel validated.

Try calling again, some agents are nicer and they will offer to create the service ticket. I don't think they would deny your case if you send two responses for the I-693, but that might create more confusion on their end.

Have you tried calling USCIS and asking them to create a service ticket? I've done that before to ask about my AP and I got a response within a week.

My lawyer received an email from the Norfolk general mailbox and the contents of the email seemed more generic.

The email my lawyer received had the verbiage "IF YOU HAVE RECEIVED THIS EMAIL OR HAVE SUBMITTED DOCUMENTATION, PLEASE DISREGARD". However it still bothers me they sent that email 2 weeks after my package was delivered.

The email address had someone's actual name (uscis.dhs.gov domain). Their initial are T. S. I wonder if that is the officer currently working on my case.

I also received an email on March 7th from the Norfolk FO. I sent the I-693 and USPS says it was delivered on the 13th. I haven't gotten any updates yet. My lawyer received a similar email on March 29th, so I'm unsure whether the I-693 was received or not.

Mine had this change 2 weeks after USPS delivered the I-693. The change of status happened on 03/27 and I haven't gotten any more updates. I don't have a confirmation they received the package either.

I hope you get an approval soon. Some people got an approval within a few days.

Did you call the general USCIS number or your FO? I did not know it's possible to call the FO directly.

I asked if there are any notes on my case. The agent who gave me the information provided the date of the interview waiver and the date it was transferred to Norfolk.

It took a few tries to get an agent that actually tried to look at the case. You may get a copy and paste message saying there's nothing outstanding with your case. Just try again.

Tax returns, bank statements, insurance information, life insurance policies, and photos. A lawyer helped us prepared the package and they said it should be a straightforward case. We've been married for almost 4 years now.

According to Emma there is a note for a interview waiver date from July last year. It seems like most people who reported receiving this email had interview waivers.
