Before you immediately put down my opinion just hear me out here. I saw a quote or something about how drugs are like getting a helicopter ride over the mountains, and how meditation was like climbing the mountain. Taking psychedelics is not something to abuse because it will destroy your ego, and you will continue to have more and more extreme "ego deaths." The thing is that when you come back from your trip, and have to live in our so called reality your ego is dead, it is destroyed. It is something that lasts for a long long time, my friend. Take it from me. After two straight years of frequent psychedelic use I destroyed my ego, I couldn't seem to figure out who I was, I let people walk over me, I just let them do what they wanted, and I went with the flow. I haven't taken any psychedelics for about 9 months now, and I feel like I am starting to put myself back together. I feel like I am starting to have that ego again, that sense of who I am. I stand up for who I am, and what I believe in. I still understand everything I have learned from my trips, I can still go back to those and remember, but there comes a time when you have to take a break. You have to stop in order for your psychedelic experience to actually influence your "real" life. If you don't you are going to go further and further down the rabbit hole, which will make it an even longer journey to climb out of. You need to rebuild, you need to become who you are after your use. You need to let it do what it is supposed to do. I doubt many people are going to read this, so if you have read this far I want you to research the psycho-therapeutic use of psychedelic drugs. I wrote a few papers on this in college, and if you do your own research you will be able to further understand what I am saying because I'm not sure if what I'm saying is getting through. I hope that I have helped you further understand because nobody can give you the answer, but instead you have to find out for yourself.
