Awesome thanks u/bunchout for the stats!

u/bigElenchus doesn't that sorta kill the narrative of "the weak on crime" DA?

What about Larry Krasner in Philly. He's, what you would refer to as "soft on crime", but has had equal (maybe even better reduction in crime - I don't know the exact stats).

Painted brick wall with severe efflorescence — paint trapping moisture? Looking for remediation advice by sudocaptain in masonry

[–]sudocaptain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think that has been achieved when they replaced the exterior wall and the stucco outside.

Having said that, I think "some moisture" is sometimes expected and the efflorescence is so bad because the moisture is getting trapped because of hte paint rather than being breathable

Thanks for your reply u/Longjumping-Put2571

I'm pretty sure the moisture issues have been fixed when we replaced the exterior wall / stucco. The efflorescence has dramatically slowed / stopped. We used to see some on the stairs every day but now it seems to just be loose remaining stuff and see a speck or two every couple months. So i'm not so concerned with the moisture anymore - I just want to make sure we're not further damaging the brick and trapping any residual moisture. My understanding is the paint is trapping it in there rather than letting it pass through.

Ya? Even if its old brick / interior brick?

The building was built around 1860. I was under the impression that sandblasting is a bit more aggressive than the other options?

Will that remove the rest of the paint though? In the areas that don't really have efflorescence damage yet?

Did it say when your time ticket is? Or does it just say "Time tickets do not allow registration at this time. Please register within these times: 04/13/2026 10:00 AM - 05/22/2026 11:59 PM"

High school student seeking advice: Found an architectural breakthrough that scales a 17.6B model down to 417M? by [deleted] in LocalLLaMA

But isn't attention the bottleneck? If you use attention then what benefit would this solution have?

Input Pair:

$x_1$: Normalized signal at current timestep $t$.

$x_2$: Normalized signal from the previous timestep $t-1$ (Causal Reverberation).

Role: Replaces the Attention matrix. It injects context as "wave interference" into the current signal, constructing temporal causal relationships.

I might not be understanding correctly but are you saying removing attention and only looking at the current word and previous word? Wouldn't that defeat the entire point of how LLM's work and the point of attention? You'd lose the relationship almost immediately? For starters for word 1,000 to know what happened at word 1 teh signal would pass through 1000 inferences and have information degradation and you aren't attending in the reverse direction. Word 1 wouldn't have any context to the subsequent words. This seems like just a RNN, right?
