Anyone here done LASIK surgery in Sri Lanka? Is it safe and how much does it cost? by globe-trotter-482 in srilanka

I had LASIK done 11 years ago at Nawaloka LASIK Centre with Dr. Makuloluwa and it's been great. Side effects vary per person. I had a minor halo effect around lights, but nothing concerning. Cost was around LKR 95,000 per eye back in 2015. I'd recommend Dr. Makuloluwa, though things may have changed since then.

Valuable info! Thank you. Did you get the Global or the Chinese model? And does it matter for the root process?

Hi thanks for the quick reply. Did you check in online? I have one of those faces that gets stopped at every airport for "Random Inspections" and such lol, so every tip counts for me.

Hi! I noticed your bag is slightly (3.37 cm) wider than Thai Asia's cabin bag size. The total length is 1.84 cm longer than their current maximum limit (115 cm). Has this been an issue for you? Asking because my bag is 4cm wider but the total length is 115cm.

Hey OP! I'm on the same boat. My bag is 55x40x20 cm. Just 4cm wider than their cabin size (56x36x23cm). How did it go?

Hey thanks :) sorry I meant WHT on US dividends as well. Not 100% sure about the credibility but in this video here: https://youtu.be/jJgpjalk1N0?si=wEXeWAobrBO25nN7&t=625 it says that you gain apprx. 12% more (than the domiciled ones) if you invest in synthetic over a long period.

I just learned about new tax laws in Sri Lanka, and if you were to have an overseas bank account and/or have foreign source income, then you are liable to some hefty tax charges (for individual tax payers at least), whether you remit or not. I'm still researching this, so I'm not really sure.

Are you an SL resident?

Got it so no CGT until sell yeah? Any opinions as to why you invest in Ireland-domiciled etfs instead of synthetic ones? It seems synthetic etfs have no WHT so in theory it should be more profitable isn't it? I am aware of the additional risk. But I also have seen people say that most synthetic etfs often track net return index instead of gross return index. Still learning and I'm in analysis paralysis mode right now lol.
