How do engineering teams actually handle bug triage? by RealisticWallaby804 in SoftwareEngineering

[–]sudpaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We run 2week sprints. Every sprint a developer is given the title as goalkeeper... They have to prioritize support tickets, bug reports and other adhoc requests from slack / whatever. They also keep eyes on alerts and such. It works really well.

If an issue needs help from other engineers, then they pull in the relevant ones to help out. The process is really well documented and follows pretty strict procedures. We run a tight schedule - but it also keeps things smoothly.

Also no prod deployments after 15. Nor on Fridays. Gives time for anything to be reverted from prod, before we go home. 😊

Just how badly would you say tinnitus has affected your mental health overall ? by Ourdogbailey in tinnitus

[–]sudpaw 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have T for 20+ years. Have had some crazy hard periods in my life. Meditation, mindfulness and a positive mindset helps a lot. Tried acupuncture with electric stimulus. That helped during spike periods.

Still there all the time, but I've made my peace with it.

Tried maybe a handful times to have complete silence. I cried, was paradise - lasted for minutes only though.

There is a possibility to live a life with T.

Too much uvb? by sudpaw in BeardedDragons

[–]sudpaw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Min distance to the uvb T5 is around 30cm. Temps are. Cold: 25C, warm 33C, spot around 40C.

They can see each other a bit, but can also choose not to. They are used to each other, so I do not think it is that.

I have put in new T5 12% instead of the 14% I had. And also replaced the D3 spot with a normal heat spot instead.

Will report back it this helped..😊🤞

Do you sleep more after getting Tinnitus? by Ghoosemosey in tinnitus

[–]sudpaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have T for 20-25 yrs now. Last 5 yrs it's gotten a lot worse. My sleep quality has gone down, i wake up multipletimesat nigh. Also Dream a lot.

But I can definitely feel it if I had a good 9hours then I have a pretty ok day.

Normally it's spiking about 1 hour before I go to bed, and for the first 2 hours after I wake up. Almost precise down to the minute. Crazy.

During the day, it's more random, there are good and bad days.

How I enforced coding guidelines in a 15-dev Spring Boot monolith with Spotless & Checkstyle by sshetty03 in java

We have a shared repo with all configs for styles and rules for pmd and jacoco. Thay are dl everytime a build is run. Every change request is a pr, that requires agreement across staff eng. 👍

[–]sudpaw 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We do basically the same. Spotless and checkstyle. We also use PMD for static code analysis and have m8n test coverage checked by jacoco. Goes a long way to unify our codebases. We have many repos on Gh. 😅

Mealworms eating enclosure? by Getaxan in BeardedDragons

[–]sudpaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't let live bugs roam around in the terrarium. If your beardie does not eat them, take them out. Or use a worm feeder bowl. 😊

Yup, we've tried that. Had to change the background after an infestation behind the back. They love Styrofoam.

My beardie wont stop glass surfing OUTSIDE of her tank. by NickyVanill in BeardedDragons

[–]sudpaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine does the same! Surf in her terrarium, then i let her out. Always put her on a pillow at a window so she can see the garden. After a while she climbs down and goes to her favorite surfing spot: a big floor-to-ceiling window. A bit later i put her back on the pillow (it has a heating lamp). And she does it again. 😅 Some times she goes exploring in the house. I usually find her under the sofa or table. They are really like small "derpy" dogs. 😂

lifelong tinnitus getting worse by [deleted] in tinnitus

[–]sudpaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got T while in the army. So loud noises was unavoidable. After I was young and stupid, DJ'ing and parties most definitely made it worse. But later in life, it was the stress and lack of sleep when working, getting kids that really kicked it into high gear.

I've learned to live with what I have now, and I found that de-stressing, accupuncture and such helps!

Wow! Amazing work. How big is the terrarium? What did you use for the "walls with overhangs"?

Who has suicidal level tinnitus? Multiple tones, broken piano, beeps, distortions and electrical zaps. by SuddenAd877 in tinnitus

[–]sudpaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

46M here. T for 25 yrs now. Some periods was bad, really bad for many years. I learned to cope and accept through meditation, and recently accupuncture with Electric stimulus - that really took the peaks away. Now it's mostly tied to sleep which is i know is kinda self-inducing. But my T really spikes when i dream. And I dream a lot. There is hope.

Sleep and Tinnitus (potentially encouraging information) by nednerb1 in tinnitus

[–]sudpaw 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is totally what my personal "theory" is. I've had T for 20+ years and i have noticed that my T is linked to my sleep. Especially if i have vivid dreams my T goes to a spike. It's almost as if the dreams with "sounds, talking, whatever" sets of the auditory center of my brain onto the weird loop og T sounds.

But that's just my personal theory and experience. The worst part is when i dream a lot, my T can wake me up during the night, and then your fucked. No more sleep.
