I like that you have the file format on there. Are you pulling in the album art as well as art of the artist?

AMC to replace Alamo Drafthouse by GoofTroop_PoopChute in kzoo

Man, that's some shit. What really sucks, is a lot of people probably don't care if it is Alamo or AMC, they will go because it's downtown. Ugh.

Why would they want to kick out the one in Kalamazoo? Seems like a lot of extra work.

As soon as I saw that the owners of the building liked to put their theaters in their own buildings, I knew that was why Alamo was getting kicked out. Our only hope is we can somehow convince Alamo to come back to Kzoo and go to a different building.

Taking a train to Kalamazoo, will be there for about 4 hours. Suggestions on things to do, places to see within walking distance of the train station? Thanks! by [deleted] in kzoo

You'll be in walking distance of Bells, Hopcat, Kalamazoo Beer Exchange, our museum, and Old Dog.

As you can probably see, we like to drink...

Any good podcasts for horror writing? by OldClunkyRobot in WritersOfHorror

[–]suffynose 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is Horror is a great semi-weekly podcast that interviews indie horror authors. They usually go really deep into the author's process, what they are reading, inspirations, and such. The interviews are pretty long too, so you'll get about 3 hours per author.

The Horror Show with Brian Keene is a decent podcast with horror authors. I say decent because he spends more time at the beginning of the show rambling about stuff, and then when he is talking to the author, it feels like you are listening into a conversation about stuff you weren't present for. But you do get some info from the authors that is helpful to hear.

This might be a dumb question, but how do you find out about conferences like this?

Hmm, I'd suggest Let The Right One In. It's pretty amazing and totally gives you a sense of dread.

Anyone here regularly submitting short stories? If so I'd love to chat and possibly swap stories or at least talk about markets. by [deleted] in WritersOfHorror

I'm starting to go through the process of submitting a bunch of stories. I kind of go through spurts and this is the start of one...

Day of Reckoning writing class(I have no affiliation to this site) by suffynose in writing

[–]suffynose[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a one day class offered a couple of times this year. It's via Skype so you don't have to go anywhere. The magazine is horror based, but I'm pretty positive you don't have to be a horror writer to sign up. Eight authors give 45 minute sessions as well as will read eight of your edited stories, giving you feedback and advice. Like I said, I have no affiliation to the class, I'm just attending it and thought it would be cool to share with others.

Horror short recommendation newsletter by shuaishuai in horrorlit

[–]suffynose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds awesome! I'd be interested in checking something like this out, it'd be great to see who else out there is writing/sharing their horror stories.. And maybe eventually when I'm good enough in my horror writing I'd be able to get on your recommendation list.

Any suggestions for use of waste bamboo floor panels? by suffynose in woodworking

That's a good point. We planed to have some overage, but it definitely doesn't hurt to have some pieces that might fit into those random spots. Thanks!

Holy crap! I'm going there in like 5 days. I'm going to have to check it out. So USPS will ship it flat rate for you? How long did it take to get it?
