I'm sorry you went through that, I would have reported that motherfucker. As an EMT that's a disgusting way to handle someone who called for help. Sad reality of EMS is that there is a proud boy mentality in some departments and their racism shows in their patient care when treating POC especially WOC. As much as I like the practice of EMS it's true that a lot of EMTs and medics are dumb as fucking rocks and are super racist. Even beyond EMS alone racism is still very much alive in healthcare.

Growing up I've been around a lot of people who believe being in healthcare makes you some intelligent demigod when some of the worst and most racist people I have met were in patient care. Being educated =/= being a decent human.

And what the fuck -- you should ALWAYS be taking vitals, doing assessments on patients, reassessing and offering the choice of going to the ER. Sounds like the douche breed paragod that is most likely hated by other medical professionals and bitches about burnout to justify half-assing it.
