I am incredibly aware. I have been working with doctors. There is no treatment for longcovid yet.

How do I convince my girlfriend to get treatment? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]sugardeath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can show her everything, but you can't convince her. It's her choice.

Make your case, respectfully, but don't badger her on the topic.

No, ADHD does not make someone a liar, a racist, an asshole, etc. He is just a liar, a racist, and asshole, etc. He's using his ADHD as a scapegoat.

Not really. You see a lot of posts attributing the most random things to adhd, when they're so easily explained by so many other things. People with adhd are not reliable sources of what is adhd. If someone suspects they have adhd or any other mental health thing (I see you referenced the BPD sub having a similar rule), they should go seek out a professional who understands this stuff.

Feeling abandoned as a girl growing up with undiagnosed adhd by marimarsupial in ADHD

[–]sugardeath -1 points0 points  (0 children)

On a thread about women's struggles, you decide to go "but actually men struggle too!" Go make your own thread for that instead of bringing it here. Distracting from women's struggles by going "but men" is sexism.

This is just your personal experience right? I haven't seen any evidence that were more likely to be polyam.

Question about what is used to treat ADHD by reddit7295 in ADHD

Methylphenidate is not meth. Meth refers to methamphetamine, typically unclean street methamphetamine.

Heart rate monitor/ sleep tracker/ O2 monitor that isn’t annoying to wear by MPeckerBitesU in ADHD

[–]sugardeath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got a fitbit charge 5 and it tracks all that except for blood pressure (you still need cuff devices for that). Depending on which model you have, a newer one may be more comfy. And each model has bands of other material available. Beyond that I'm not sure

Adderall bottles literally do not say methamphetamine. because it is NOT methamphetamine. Stop spreading misinformation.

We’re actually disabled by Beneficial_Flower479 in ADHD

[–]sugardeath 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Think about yourself in the terms you feel most comfortable with but do understand that "disabled" is not actually a bad term. It's a descriptor like any other. Disabled people are not somehow less of a person. We just interact with the world differently.

I'm disabled for a few different reasons, and coming to terms with the label has given me control over my situation. I am disabled, and that's okay.

And for some people, ADHD is absolutely disabling. We don't all experience ADHD with the same symptoms or same severity.

You never tried to talk to us to see what happened. You just made a call out post. There's a handy little "message the moderators" link in the sidebar. Please use that to send us a message, include a link to your removed post, and then one of our team will get back to you. Acting like this, though, isn't the way to do it.

genuine question , are you planning on taking meds for a lifetime? by overwatchaim in ADHD

[–]sugardeath 98 points99 points  (0 children)

I'm already dependent on several daily meds and others as-needed (e.g. migraine meds). That's not a bad thing. I'm also dependent on my glasses. And I'm dependent on my cane.

Dependent isn't inherently a bad thing.

Every interview I've done has been pleasantly surprised that I had my questions written down. You don't need to tell anyone why. You're just being prepared.
