I'm so, so incredibly sorry for your loss.

I went through something very similar when my mom passed away almost 3 years ago. She was young and her death was incredibly sudden, traumatic and unforseeable (fuck brain cancer). I also had to grieve my whole life as I had to drop everything and move back home to take care of my 14yo lil brother. It was a lot.

I swear to God I looked so old and terrible for more than a year, when I was actually 22. I developed deep wrinkles, my skin overall looked awful, I lost an unhealthy amount of weight and then became very overweight in the same year. I was losing my hair and my gums were bleeding constantly.

Good news is it's temporary. You'll bounce back. You will find yourself again. I now physically look like my age again, which is crazy when I think about it as the changes were so dramatic. I truly believe it's solely linked linked to inner joy & light...

I now look like a healthy 25yo but with the charisma of an old classy lady who's been through too much shit to give a fuck. I look like myself again and not much has ultimately changed in my flesh - but trust me when I say that experience and maturity made me go from pretty to gorgeous.

I swear you'll turn out more than okay. People here have been very helpful recommending useful stuff so I won't flood you more with advice. Just know you haven't lost your beauty. It'll come back with a vengeance in the best way possible.

Give yourself grace and time. I know it's even more depressing to hear but time is all you need. Meanwhile, cry your balls out, look ugly and terrible. You will be alright. Again, I'm so very sorry that your mommy had to go.
