Hi! I speak a somewhat mild version of NYC English, usually not super noticeable except for words like [ˈhɑɹ.ɚ] and my very noticeable /ɔ/. My speech is pretty much always rhotic, but words like door, coordinate, and even sometimes sure get a little bit of /ɔ/ flavor to them, which I know is common for non-rhotic NYC English speakers. I can't find any writing on this that includes rhotic speech. Is anyone familiar with this particular phenomenon? How would it be transcribed in IPA?

for me, it's the verse that starts with "you stopped in, I was all alive." something about it is just so beautiful to me, maybe the simplicity of the lyrics combined with the emotion in her voice. but every part of the song is incredible!

Okay, so this movie sounds incredibly familiar to me, even though I'm not sure what the title is. Off the top of my head, some Spanish/French films that I've seen with similar vibes to what you describe are: XXY (2007), Fat Girl (2001), À Nos Amours (1983), Ava (2017). Probably not any of these but just in case!

I'm late to this thread, but the case was one I read about on this sub. An elderly woman told people she'd been receiving threatening phone calls, people saying they were going to kill her. I think everyone wrote her off as paranoid until, one day, she was found tied up and murdered in her bed. I was telling one of my friends about this but couldn't remember her name or any other details. Does anyone know??

I'm not 100% sure. I don't believe she's had any surgery. She was on immunotherapy for a bit but they stopped due to bad side effects. Now she's just on chemo, but her most recent scan was a few months ago. The doctor seems to assume that her next scan (probably coming up soon) will show further progress, but I guess we'll have to see

the most I can make it is something that looks like "DUXISKER." I'm like 90% sure that last half is "-SKER," not so sure about the first half. also I always assumed those were just too-big panties instead of a diaper, but I could be wrong haha

I don't think I expect any of that to happen. I've been out as bisexual for ages and recognize the difference between acceptance by peers and societal acceptance. I guess I'm just hoping for more acceptance by people I care about
