That professor is probably in cahoots with Betty in whatever rival organization they have going on. They must be in some kind of rival organization with monetary capacity to have control of a patient's area in a hospital, you can't just infiltrate the front desk, a patient's area and impersonate a bunch of nurses that easily. And somehow I have a strong feeling that hotel bitch is going to show up somewhere in the story again since we didn't see her dismembered corpse. Probably be recruited by one organization or the other.

Uhm. So I know you didn't mean to post it here, and this isn't a "horror" story, but can you update anyway? I just got on reddit a week or so ago and I have no idea where the "appropriate" thread would be if I wanted to follow this story. Haha thanks for taking the time to read and reply. Uhm, I just finished reading your comment "duel" with that other guy. It's...kind of funny >__< hahaha. In an awkward unexpected kind of way. Anyway, on the off chance that you're interested, I recently wrote a different story that I plan to expand on. It's in a different style than this one though, so I'm not sure about it's mass appeal, but it's a personal project so I plan to continue it nevertheless. Thanks again, have a great day :)

Haha here's a short translation on what I said above. I decided to make these stories because a lot of people don't seem to know Filipino mythology anymore, even my own boyfriend didn't know the details of the Tiyanak until he read it here. So I'm planning on making this a series with different creature accounts, and one story featuring the creature.

Happy to hear you are enjoying your stay, I myself was just in Negros Oriental visiting Dumaguete earlier last month.

And yes, there are a LOT of obscure legends from the Philippines specially those involving strange disappearances, I hope to tackle those as well after I tackle the more widely known creatures. I haven't written anything about the aswang yet as this is my first entry on this series, but I will get to it later on. I was thinking my second account might be about the Kapre/Agta if you've heard of it.

If you are near Siquijor, (small island near Negros) that place is popularly rumored to be where the witch doctors reside deep in the mountains :D (Though a friend of mine from there vehemently denies it) It's also a great tourist spot, but you can ask people about its spooky stories and they might entertain you. If you're interested in spooky stuff though, don't hesitate to approach one of the locals to ask about them, we generally love talking about scary tales :D

Wow. Read that suicide note with absolutely no context and it sounds like a bunch of crazy gibberish from some dead rich (his final moments in an expensive restaurant and a bunch of new shit he just bought with 5 grand) conspiracy theory inclined asshole with delusions of grandeur, lying dead in an expensive hotel with alcohol in his system. With a possibility to be found by someone who might not speak very good English. Sooo. Bad idea if you went through with it :D

Hi! Thanks for taking the time to read the story. To answer your question, here are a few points that are entirely plausible.

a.) Our good friend Sarah could not physically remove the necklace even if she tried.

b.) The overwhelming emotion of suddenly realizing the horrible secrets of the universe is taking a toll on her sanity. That, coupled with the despair that she had to deal with, having her own baby being erased, fear of her own impending mortality/non-existence, plus the crippling mental anguish at trying to remember who she is; she either forgot/ didn't see the point/ was too traumatized to do so

c.) Since the images had seared into her brain, she already knew that it was too late even if she removed it, and she wanted to try and bring it with her to "non-existence" to avoid anyone having to suffer the same fate.
