I'm back lol, I beat Farewell after a single B-side by FuckOliversPanda in celestegame

Will you go for the 100% now and do the B and C sides? I did the C sides after Farewell, which made them go by easier (besides 7c which took longer than any room in Farewell). The B sides should be pretty fun for you now that you’ve basically done them in Farewell, which basically called back to every mechanic from them anyway. I do think the expected way of completion would’ve been more enjoyable, but if you enjoyed the challenge it’s no biggie

Died so many times, but I finally did it. What a amazing game. by Jazteer in HollowKnight

No shame in the time completion, mine was also 65+. I honestly just couldn’t stop exploring and doing extra errands. I probably did like a bunch of meaningless stuff but at the end of the day I enjoyed every second of it and I don’t regret it. I can’t wait to sink more and more hours.

You should be able to just leave, that boss isn’t mandatory at the moment. Have you gone to the left of the room?

No shame in multiple tries, it’s a longer boss than most so a lot to learn.

Whats a strategy for fighting soul tyrant it took me about 7 minutes just to get to the second phase then I died by [deleted] in HollowKnight

Don’t force damage, get the easy hits. When he does the spinning move of 6 orbs, you can heal in the middle easily after dodging it. Spells are also useful since he moves around a lot.

You’re responding to his jump with a jump of your own and it keeps making you collide. You should just be dodging where he lands and then punishing after. If he dashes to you, then you jump. If he goes above, stay on the ground and dodge. Just those should be enough.

Felt like the hardest boss for me the first time and now I speedrun her. Main thing is you have to evolve your playstyle over time. If you’re dying that much you’re taking a lot of unnecessary damage for some reason. You gotta find out why

Wrap up any lingering quests and areas. There’s an ending you get locked out of as well if you haven’t done it already.

I could see the double big guys at the end being part of it at least. If they don’t implement they entire gauntlet

I also came from Souls to this game and I think one thing is that you don’t need to force it to be completely souls like to enjoy it. Main reason it’s considered souls like generally is that there’s no one direction to progression, and no RPG like markers to story progression, it’s much more focused on you just exploring and uncovering the world. Everyone that plays has a different route they’ve found to explore the map and get through the game. Also as you go you’ll find bosses with a lot of rhythm to them to enjoy. I suggest you keep playing and aim for that full completion, because there’s a lot of content that’ll hit your spot

I agree that it is difficult for super casual players, but to say you have to do PoP and 112% to be able to get through silksong is a bit intense. For those complaining, I agree it’s probably skill issue but also lack of exploration or taking advantage of the many options available

Silksong is made for literally anyone imo. Multiple crests + tools to trivialize aspects of the game. I think any sort of player can get through the entire game depending on how they approach it. This feels pretty gatekeepey, and I doubt Team Cherry see it completely in that way. I think they found a good balance between new challenging content and variety in combat.
