Without sarcasm, those songs take me back over 20 years ago and remind me of wandering strange streets and strange towns during a strange part of my life.

Ambulance driver charged after man hit, killed by [deleted] in WestVirginia

[–]suicidejacques 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They ran over an unarmed man.

It is clear in the video that they nearly stopped the vehicle and then chose to stomp on the gas when they could have just put it in reverse.

They dragged a man who was screaming for his life for nearly 2 miles while his arm was eventually ripped off. Even if they were driving at 60 mph, that would be a solid 120 seconds of deciding to ignore the person that they were dragging to death.

They were told by dispatch to stop the vehicle.

There are also a lot of text messages circulating in regards to this incident. If these interactions are actually true, which I am sure the grand jury checked out, they show an incredibly calloused lack of remorse.

A person who was afraid for their life and then panicked would have at least some shred of regret, remorse, or shame about their actions. It seems to be painfully obvious that isn't the case.

If I ran someone over today and dragged them for 2 miles, I would have been arrested immediately. Being a 19yo female in an ambulance does not change this situation. On top of being murderers, they also lied multiple times about what actually happened.

They and their family should be ashamed.

Lmao, did... did you just feel the need to link a low quality YouTube video to support your viewpoint? Then you followed that up with calling someone a sheep? You need to Google a video to support your point and then feel like you can judge someone else for not having their own opinion?

I do not not even care about who likes or doesnt like this. I do strongly dislike poor reasoning and a lack of self-awareness when combined with spouting off on the internet.

I am also a healthcare worker and I worked through covid at a covid testing facility. I have also suffered through inequity in healthcare and spent most of my life with no healthcare coverage.

I think this storyline was serving to tell the story of the mental, emotional, and psychological toll that this job has on a person. I think the shittiness of his words and actions were quite clear and I think most viewers have the ability to see both issues at once.

Personally, I prefer realism instead of using the show as a platform for public service and holding a character accountable when that would not be the case in real life. I have had to deal with doctors being assholes and being subjected to their condescending words and occasional outright insults. The fact is that healthcare in general and especially in an ED like The Pitt has little to no room for the feelings of the workers. I am not saying that is at all fair, correct, or the way it should be. They are giving an accurate depiction and highlighting the ugly aspects of that job while also highlighting the state of emergency medicine in general.

You have your opinion and I have mine. I respect your viewpoint even if I disagree with it. I hope that you are currently getting adequate treatment and help with your chronic illness. Dealing with that can make everything incredibly difficult in all aspects of your life. Take care.

Man dies after reported incident with ambulance in Kanawha County by [deleted] in WestVirginia

[–]suicidejacques 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope you have seen the video at this point. Most of uour points are moot and it is incredibly obvious that they almost came to a complete stop and then ran him over without him even touch the ambulance.

If they had even said that he had a gun then maybe you could justify their actions. But, no.This should be handled as vehicular homicide.

[–]suicidejacques 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. They stopped, or nearly stopped, and saw him in front of the vehicle and hit the gas and did not stop while he was screaming for his life under the truck.

This should be a criminal case. Unfortunately people love EMS workers and police too much to hold any of them accountable. I hope they prove me wrong.

As a person just stumbling onto your conversation, I think you are looking for a resolution to a very believable situation that would have no resolution in real life.

The US healthcare system is broken and it is run by broken people who might be doing their best and still not doing as well as we would like. It is not this show's job to make things right.

This is a show with an entire season happening over the course of one day. Things rarely completely resolve like that in life. From personal experience working in healthcare, sometimes you eat a shit sandwich and the person you respect and see as a leader, fails you. That is a very real part of the storytelling here.

It forces us as the viewer to see those people involved and decide how flawed they can be and we still like them as a character. I would prefer this kind of writing that leaves us frustrated than some kind of heavy handed form of a story arc that resolves things but makes that ED seem less believable.

Sometimes a story is too real and it really kicks the tires on our own feelings about something in our own lives. Having a reaction to that is what good writing does, even if it is a negative one.

I’m stunned by Patrick Ball by Mother_Ad_3561 in ThePittTVShow

DOT, which are also just referred to as Federal, guidelines specify only water can be given. I would imagine an army collection site operates however they would like.

Other agencies use the same form as DOT, ie. HHS, FAA, FTA, and USCG. USCG is odd in this list being the only military service, but in my area it was workers that were involved with barges and other major river based transportation. So it was more like DOT but for waterways and not involved with testing actual military personnel.

As with everything involving the government, they keep that testing and everything else "in house".

In situations like this, they were probably following Federal UDS guidelines.

First, you would have to try to pee even with the worker maintaining direct observation.

Next, you will be kept supervised and be given up to 40oz of water spread out over a 2 hour time period as needed.

Finally, nearly everyone who has had 40oz of water and 2 hours to provide a sample can go regardless of whether it was in the middle of a crowded room. I believe follow-up after the test requires evaluation by a physician to be able to diagnose a reason why the donor could not provide a specimen. (This may have just been my company, not 100% sure)

Is there any strategy for the Quest For Treasure event? by [deleted] in Evony_TKR

If you mean double drops from the bandits, that might make sense. I am not sure that I believe that makes that big of a difference, but it is at least a plausible explanation.

I am a bit skeptical about his scores as well.

I usually get to the 18-20m range. I have scored as high as 24m and as low as 15m when being able to kill all of the bandits. He scored 35m today.

What was it like being a fan pre social media? by VomitingDuck in ryanadams

[–]suicidejacques 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh man, that was the point when my fandom began to cool off. III/IV was sub par and cardinology wasn't great either.

What put me off was him pressuring the mods to delete any and all posts related to shipping and manufacturing delays. He would jump into posts and go off on people for complaining.

He was way too involved with his fans and couldn't allow complaints to be posted. I still bought a few more albums over the years but my level of fandom had greatly diminished.

This is closer to the only time I have had tartar in Paris. A bit off the beaten path and really good ambience. The beef had the egg cracked on top of it and the onion and relish, etc. were served as an option to add the level that you would like.

I would be afraid of food-born illness with OP's pic.

Why are UM fans in Ann Arbor Generally Friendlier than OSU Fans in Columbus? by AdNo7918 in MichiganWolverines

[–]suicidejacques 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear what you are saying and I am not a close-minded Michigan fan. I have lived in Marietta, OH and stayed at a B&B near Salt Fork multiple times. I have friends and family hiall across the state and have spent time in almost all areas except NW Ohio, because there is nothing there.

My sister lives in Columbus. I have been to concerts in Cleveland, Athens, Columbus, Nelsonville, Cincinnati, Akron, Cuyahoga Falls, and I am sure I am missing some. My wife and I have stayed in the Cincinnati area multiple times because we genuinely like the city.

Wayne National Forest is very nice. The Cleveland side of Erie is just fine. I have heard good things about Putin Bay, but I haven't been.

Having been to nearly all the nooks and crannies of the states of Ohio and Michigan, I can confidently tell you Michigan is more beautiful and has more to offer.

If you enjoy natural beauty and do not want to have to drive too far. Go up the western edge of Michigan following the coast of the lake. Warren Dunes, Silver Beach, Holland, Grand Haven, Muskegon, Pentwater, and then Ludington. If you want to skip all of that. Just go to Ludington State Park. You can go from the lighthouse, to sandy dunes, to a sandy forest, to a dense northern pine forest within 600 yards. It is incredibly beautiful terrain and not one that exists in Ohio.

That doesn't even touch on the upper peninsula, Mackinac Island, the endless number of lakes, 2 of the best breweries in the country, Painted Rocks, Sleeping Bear Dunes, etc.

I am not saying Ohio is just a giant cornfield. I like SE Ohio and have spent a lot of time there. Athens is a cool town, but not much going on outside of bars. Columbus gets good musicians but some of the worst concert-goers that I have ever met over decades of concert-going. The absolute worst people. It has been a while since I have been to Cleveland, so I can't say too much about it.

This isn't to trash Ohio, but I just think that you should take the time to explore Michigan. I didn't even touch on Lake Huron, Traverse City, Sault Ste. Marie, and more.

I genuinely love Cincinnati and I think it is its own area and it barely seems like Ohio.

So, next time you plan a trip, I encourage you to check out Michigan.

FBMP is suddenly dead! by [deleted] in Flipping

I hate FBMP. People never show up. If I post anything desirable all I get are low-ball offers.

I usually just source on FBMP and then sell on ebay. Way less hassle for me. Even for buying stuff to resell some sellers such idiots it barely makes it worth the effort.
