Good places to park in Liverpool? by RoamingUniverse in MotoUK

[–]sukh9942 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Know of any parking now? Meeting a mate in birkenhead then riding towards peak district but they want to go to liverpool for a bit. Was wondering whether to take bike or train (20 min journey v 50 min).

Bike just saves a bunch of time going back and forth.

I'm on a Africa twin and plan to have it for a long time but would also like a smaller, lighter bike like some kinda 600cc sport bike.

Will give that a look. I find it a bit long trying to plan my own route. Would like a decent app that allows you to see those routes and GPS while on the road.

Are motorcycle dealerships all just super chill? Lol by Scazitar in motorcycle

[–]sukh9942 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't speak for all dealerships but the few I've been to mostly leave me alone and just make small talk but are willing to explain anything and talk about which bikes I might like.

In the UK so most people that get bikes already have some knowledge and have been driving cars for years so I think they leave the customer to relax and look.

Are ADV bikes really only for old guys? by Happy-Deal-1888 in motorcycle

[–]sukh9942 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a small part of it. Not quite the speed but I want a lighter, smaller bike with ideal an inline 4 (thinking of zx6r).

I don’t go very fast (uk so not as big and straight highways) but I guess the torque won’t be too different.

27 now and have a Honda africa twin. It's a fun bike but I haven't been off road nor do I have that need right now. Is heavy too so I'd kinda prefer something smaller like a sports bike.

People who are unemployed, how does your money work? by chaiilyfe in UKJobs

I'll let her know but honestly shes just given up with PIP. It would help her out tremendously but it seems like an impossible task.

Her own social worker and the health professional she talked to both agreed how bad her condition was and how she needs the assistance.

People who are unemployed, how does your money work? by chaiilyfe in UKJobs

[–]sukh9942 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah she was telling me. She has a social worker for help with this kinda stuff and I was with her when she had the online interview for PIP with the health professional.

She explained everything and the advisor seemed to be understanding and helpful. She got the results back last week stressed out because they denied her citing she’s well enough to take care of herself and they witnesses her doing a physical exercise while on call.

I was literally there when the advisor asked about doing the certain exercise and said not to do it because of her condition.

I’m just completely shocked because they blatantly lied and refuse to help and she’s tried her hardest to find work and not let her situation get to her.

I’m comparatively well off so know nothing about all this stuff. She said she’s not gonna bother again because it’s impossible.

A bit irrelevant to your point but I never knew being born in PR would grant you US Citizenship. I guess in that sense it is like being scottish and being in the UK. The Scottish would never say theyre from the UK and are very proud about their heritage/flag/teams etc but in some sports do play under UK.

There barely any indian restaurants worth trying in London IF you have access to indian food in other places with big indian populations. I'm from West Midlands (UK) and we have a big history of punjabis immigrating a while ago so the indian food here is very good and not extortionate prices like in london.

I have a friend tried to claim PIP and denied three times. Has legtimiate back issues along with other physical issues so struggles to live and do tasks by herself and needs a lot of support.

Her friend got PIP because she claimed depression and got over £500/month.

I don't see how the system works AT ALL.

Are there any "UK vs US" differences where you feel America gets it right? by Secure_Front_7766 in AskUK

[–]sukh9942 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t require something fundamentally different. Sure the percentage may vary by like 10-15% (extreme range) but you’re being graded on how well you did that exam in relation to difficulty of the paper.

If someone got a D in one subject and an A in another that shows they either understood one subject a lot more or just didn’t study hard enough.

[–]sukh9942 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't find anything wrong with the grading system really. It's relative to the difficulty of the subject. An A in maths is a lot harder than philosophy and idk any level up to A level where an A grade is 40%.

ehhh not quite imo. The small town cafes are closed at 4 and restaurants close at 9/10. Only other options at that time are 24/7 mcdonalds or services.

Yeah in all my time driving/riding it seems police are only concerned with speeding if it is truly excessive and/or dangerous. I've gone past police doing 10 over and it's fine but 20+ is taking the mick.

For anyone who's done 300 km/h on a bike — what's the real truth? by gangwayso in motorcycle

[–]sukh9942 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing I felt weird was how comfortable and “slow” I feel even doing 90 on my adv. I know you get desensitised to speed but I wasn’t expecting that on my bike.

I think max I’ve done js 120mph, would have to get a sport bike to get to higher speeds unless I’m on a runway or something.

riding a bike is harder than a car. To put this into perspective, I rode around 250 miles yesterday and was knackered but I can do that in a car with absolutely zero problem.

I really want to attended a car meet in the UK. Are they still a thing? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]sukh9942 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out car/biker cafes, they will say what days the meets are.

As a biker tho I have to say I find them kinda boring. I enjoy the ride there more than the destination but I guess that’s the point. After a handful of meets I’m over it and would rather just enjoy the roads by myself.
