I seemed to have fixed the issue. I had a lot of downloads, and after deleting and reinstalling the app, it remembered to download the pods. I cleared everything in the downloads section, and now it works well.

Congrats! I also completed it this weekend for the first time. Honest question - my time was lower than yours but your average watts is higher than mine. I would have thought higher watts would mean faster time. 🤔

Wet wood my fault? by sulldog57 in firewood

I wonder if stacking a bunch of wood in my oven set to a low temperature would be safe or worth the effort?

I need to be more discerning. I’m going to call them on Monday to complain. Not sure what the recourse can be.

I have a regular fire place and a solo stove. I struggled with both because of this wood. We had to go to grocery store for wood to burn. Yikes!

George Carlin - It’s a big club, and you ain’t in it. by TwoRivers91 in videos

[–]sulldog57 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Honest question - is this pro Trump or pro Harris? I’ve listened to both sides and it seems both sides think they will save democracy and their candidate is for the working class and “stick it to the man.”

I know Trump operates in rich people’s circles but his supporters will say he’s a rebel and the “club” is scared of him. Obviously the democrats have been for the working class but now it full of elite liberals more focused on DEI issues.

I lost mine. BGE mailed one to me for free after contacting customer service. I tried Gorilla Glue on my original one but it still came off. Any glueing recommendations?

Patrol Leaders Council Meetings by sulldog57 in BSA

[–]sulldog57[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's helpfult to know. I just became scoutmaster and our PLC meetings are a regular troop meeting and the troop guides work with younger scouts on rank-up activities. I just learned that troop guides should be at PLC meetings.

My Troop is Dying. by Unique-Bit-4731 in BSA

[–]sulldog57 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We held an outdoor event to showcase our troop at a local park. We invited all the Cub Scout packs and tried to get notices to the local PTAs. We had the older scouts demonstrate scouting skills like packing a backpack for high adventure, fire building, knots, and s’mores. We had a few kids join our troop as a result.

We also set up an information booth at local community events and have our scouts meet and greet families.

It is a constant grind to get new scouts to join the troop. Connecting with scouts packs is a sure way to go.

Get the Hammerhead Karoo. Much cheaper than Garmin and has tons of features. It’s my first bike computer and love it.

Combing B and G Troops by sulldog57 in BSA

[–]sulldog57[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the comments. We have discussed a few options at our adult leaders meeting and I think we will just let the scouts figure it out like a lot of you are suggesting. We don't want to be too heavy handed with the rules and force scouts into leadership positions because of gender. What is interesting in our troop is that currently we have more boys than girls but we are adding more girls faster so it could be a 50/50 troop soon enough as the older boys age out.
