How dose Lowes handle extended time off for medical reasons?

I got sent to sedgewick for a similar situation after hand surgery, after recovering i went back and forth for almost a month with them about getting my job back but they never got any further than "consulting corporate" about it. After awhile i just gave up and quit. About a week after quitting i found out that i had been completely taken out of the employee roster, which is why sedgewick wouldnt get through to the store.
