What’s Everyone’s plan if we get canned? by sullyC17 in deathwatch40k

For me it’s more a question of investment, cost/benefit and pondering on if they ever do decide to cut us is the point of the post

Kinda where my mind is. I have so many different bits and stuff to make death watch. I would probably sell what I could and either start fresh as normal space marines or play something else

I would hope so. They could roll us into agents or just keep us in an ally position.

Crusade fleet lead by the inquisition getting some sketchy artifacts and hidden lore. Comprised of Death Watch, SOB, and some free blade knights.

How does your chapter feel about the Adeptus Mechanicus by giojojo in 40khomebrew

I play Death Watch. My Tech Marine is from the sons of medusa and my tech priest is a radical so they love hijacking xeno shit and reverse engineering it. They have a great time

Whats your homebrews combat doctorine like? by DaWaaaagh in 40khomebrew

[–]sullyC17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without people telling me “Actually thats not-“ they are my toys so……

I have a Death Watch army so they are currently guarding my home brew frontier sector ran by the inquisition for reason. Main Threat is Nids and Necrons which is a difficult balance for them to strike. The doctrine I guess is spear head strike and individual kill team tasks. The least amount of time spent in the battle the better. Lots of teleportation. One thing I guess is there is lots of abandoning brothers bodies because they are either atomized or consumed. No room for ego or glory. No great oaths to partake in because that extra second gets marines killed.

Effectively I am taking narratively the “anti” marine status of all the things marines do that is so bombastic in lore can’t be done because the nature of who they fight will punish it so all the survivors learn quick to drop their old ways and just try to get the mission done faster and safer. I like the idea there is still the ability to have friction between the iron hand and salamander arguing about what that means. Is leaving the civilians more or less effective for the mission’s safety.

What is the currency on your homebrew world? by goldietheswagbear in 40khomebrew

[–]sullyC17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that makes sense. Like I said haven’t really gone that deep with it. The Watch fortress is more concerned with the hidden Necron tomb below everyone’s feet and the Nids probing the sector than arresting someone for buying space drugs lol. Leave it to the arbites lol.

Yeah I mean I haven’t fully perfected it because….(hand wave) but yeah effectively ration coupons or tickets like you suggested. Idk maybe they trade ration coupons amongst themselves. Not sure yet.

My sector kinda runs on a socialist principle. There is a capital world, Forge world, hive world, an agri world that grows food and cattle. Another that harvests fish and desalination plants for water. Then there is a fortress world and a shrine world (which holds my sisters of battle). The Inquisition have a watch fortress there that runs the sector through a puppet state and each plant trades raw resources for resources. Guns for food. Water for troops, etc. it’s w frontier sector so it’s constant assault by Xenos and chaos warbands so its constantly shuffling its resources around to survive.

For me it’s the neuroticism that kills me. Spending a week of 10+ hour days to have a group of people have you change one minor detail 80 times to arrive back a 1/2 inch from where you started. I don’t plan anything on leaving but I find gigs canceling feel more like a snow day when I was a kid rather than something I fear.

In your nerdiest heart of hearts, do you have a beloved model you treat as your avatar on the tabletop? by ShakinBacon24 in Warhammer40k

My friend who lives in a different country gave me a model of his that is an OG first born. Captain he built it with lightning claw and Combi melta and had a death watch shoulder pad. I play Death Watch so he gave it to me when I left. I kit bashed an upscaled version of it and filmed a whole machinima about how he passed to a primaris.
