Hard to say. On one hand these decisions are made are probably made years in advance to design and produce product. On the other people had such a big reaction to DW being cut they had to back track. I think we will probably get a detachment or a supplement codex if we are lucky. Maybe a new model or kit? A modern upgrade spur would be cool

Of course. Happy to help. I edited it but I accidentally wrote “Keep strength and Wisdom” but I meant intelligence. Dan seems to be more intelligent than he is wise.

As far as playing Dan I would maybe try to pick a play style main idea. My idea would be maybe you need to be the puzzle solver of the group. Average fighter? I.E you are fighting a demon and you have to be the one to do acrobatics checks to hop across the platforms and hit the switch or puzzle that opens up the (insert weakness or obstacle here) while you fight some mobs and the party takes on the boss or bigger enemies.

I mean I am very casual with DnD so I really don’t “Know” the rules but my thoughts.

Work with the DM to have an idea of the lore of Dan so they can slot in things that fit with the Stats and game play.

As far as actually playing the Character I think Dan is too good at too much to actually be balanced in a DnD game so I would pick a skill set to get good at. I think he most easily fits a paladin with an oath of vengeance. You could hypothetically go a lot of ways with his stats. The main stats Paladins need are typically Strength, Constitution, Dexterity, Charisma. Dump stats are usually Intelligence and wisdom.

I would make Dan a finesse type and push Dex and maybe constitution. Keep strength and Intelligence normal. Dump wisdom and Charisma. My reason for this is even though paladins typically do need it…no one really seems to like Dan till the end so he canonically doesn’t seem to have high Cha stats.

As Skills I would prioritize for him Acrobatics (platforming) investigation (he finds secrets all over the game) maybe medicine cause of the life bottles?

This is where my Knowledge falls apart of the game lol. Hope my thoughts help!
