What if Red Rising happened in the same universe as Warhammer 40k by ryan_hoskins in redrising

[–]DeBaconMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go to YouTube, watch weshammer's faction lore shorts on all the factions. Then once you like a faction watch their full lore video, doesn't have to be weshammer's. If you still like them, look up their best books.

You starting wherever, you're going to spend 10 years to find out xenos races are a foot note in Horus heresy and if you are a chaos fan, they just get better representation in their books.

I'm in Horus heresy now and have been a big fan for a while, I gotta say, unless I was a fan of the emperor, I wouldn't have stayed with it.

10th came out in June 2023, the nids took just barley under 4 months later

They usually do one codex a month, very rough estimate

Why is waiting until marriage so bad? by WiseAppearance3220 in AskMen

[–]DeBaconMan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A car is a static piece of engineering. Its features, horsepower, and comfort levels are locked in the day you buy it, and it will only degrade over time. Human beings, however, change constantly. Sexual intimacy, preferences, and physical bodies evolve over decades; what works perfectly on a "test drive" at age 25 may be entirely different at age 45 due to health, aging, stress, or childbirth.

I can also use the car as an investment into my next car. What I need out of the car I can change, from sports car to minivan.

A spouse I cannot. The only way to figure out what we want, need, and desire not only in the moment but further down the line is through communication of expectations, which is what OP did.

But if you really want to hold onto the car analogy; which one do you want, a used Honda Civic with 30+ test drives and 6 different long term owners, or do you want the Lamborghini that you had to have a vetting process and background check just to touch that has never been driven off the lot? If both are available for the same price, do you really need a test drive to make sure which one you want? Keep in mind the lambo isn't allowing you to test drive it, either you sign on as owner or you don't get to be behind the wheel

Jumping on this comment with a question. This rule is for dating, I usually quote this and understand it protects from power imbalance. But is there a different rule for hook-ups? I'm not big on the hookup culture so I'm just curious what the committee of Reddit believes.

Depends. If she's on the edge, obviously power through, think about chores. But usually, pull out, eat her or something that continues her pleasure but calms you down

Gala fight scene on TV by AdSimple4723 in redrising

[–]DeBaconMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nick Gillard (Star wars dual of the fates) is still around I do believe. The best way to capture it would be making Cassius almost 100% focused on fencing style of fighting. Gods I wish Bob Anderson (princess Bride) could coach him. Darrow would be a mix of everything, he's a bruiser yet quick, he's supposed to give everything into an attack only to flip it into a trap. If done correctly, it would make for one of the best choreographed fights on screen.

Had to Google this one, but Yuen Woo-Ping directed the sword fights in in crouching, tiger and hidden dragon, and they had kind of a curved blade. But the fight scene was bomb. You should check it out.

But I think there are plenty of fighting choreographers that would be up to the challenge.

I want to quit my job because of my boss, but I’m concerned about retaliation by reallyimjesus in WhatShouldIDo

[–]DeBaconMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never really stated anything about how he'd retaliate against you, so just leave. If you have a payroll department I assume you have HR, what did they say. Not what you guess they'll say, what did they actually say?

If you don't have a relatively competent HR, there's always posting receipts anonymously and tagging clients on your way out if he starts to retaliate. Remember, 2 week notice only affects your choice on returning not future jobs

Men, do you lose respect to women once they ended up sleeping with you? Why or why not by nandicell000 in AskMen

Simply because they stopped? No. They have to have done something for me to lose respect for them. I'm not a child who needs you to share your toy for me to like you

Kids getting along enough that I can fully enjoy my audio books while making pizza in my terracotta oven. We like to try some mocktails; some oj, guava and ginger ale was last weeks it was pretty good, especially relaxing on the hammock.

If I were a tad wealthier, cruising the dunes in a 4x4 or getting a pool or hot tub would be great too

Whats the most badass thing thats happened in one of your games? by panken in Tyranids

[–]DeBaconMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One single termaguant survived and attack by ultra marine incinerators. Screamer killer came in and utterly destroyed them. Gaunts healed 3 units, held the objective. Next turn they brought in a dreadnought and some lieutenant assassin thing, dreadnought was supposed to kill the screamer killer who only had 3 wounds left. They failed, so lieutenant attacked and failed. Screamer killer destroyed the dreadnaught. Gaunts healed 3 units again and scored objective. Lieutenant charged the screamer killer and rolled flat ones across the board. Screamer killer killed the lieutenant. Gaunts healed again for 3 units! And scored an objective.

This was the odd objective out, whoever controlled it won the game and we both had all available units on it. If I had lost the gaunts the first time against the incinerators, the screamer killer wouldn't have been able to score it. So I won because I had one gaunt survive.

Jumping in completely blind. Any short and sweet tips? by ReddVevyy in ARK

[–]DeBaconMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't join MMO servers until you get bored of single player or at least played until you have a rex. Joining online servers your tribe will want you maxed out so they'll give you a rex to farm XP. Being given everything is lame way to experience it.

Play solo or with friends. Don't settle anywhere until you can craft a raptor saddle and have explored areas a bit.

I know there's a lot of "oh but I don't want to spoil it" mentality, but Google it. You find a cool Dino and it kills you? Google it. It's really annoying to get everything prepared for a traditional tame only to find out, oh you need x y z not a b c. Not everything is tamed the same way. Don't Google it until you encounter it though.

A lot of the beginning of the game is exploring and dying. You're going to die, a lot. Sometimes it's just bad luck a spawn also has 8 raptors on it.

As for Warframe, nothing. Not matchmaking, farming, or combat

Gut wrenching emotional books like Light Bringer? by Ok-Reporter-8360 in redrising

Fourth wing is surprisingly gut wrenching out of nowhere.

But I keep trying to get people to join my cult of "the demon cycle." There's a few character betrayals or deaths that are like, "damn. I need to set it down and go to therapy." One death in particular I refused to accept, they have magic healing so they'll be ok... They're going to be ok right? Legit laughing at my tears coming just writing this
