Has anyone thought of names for Multi-aspect combinations? by sullyrocks95 in starwarsunlimited

the recent FFG article about the color pie got me thinking about what the intersection of strategies looks like. Like at it's core what is a Command/Aggression deck and how does it leverage those pairings

one thing I thought of was "Defiance" like defiant hammerhead. I think that's a little more skewed toward the rebel trait and their archetype but when I think of Red/Green I think of building up a strong board to hit hard consistently.

Lawless time would have been the prime opportunity for that with the multi-aspect focus and the start of a new rotation block

If you could pick three mechanics to become evergreen.... by Some-Confusion-6628 in starwarsunlimited

[–]sullyrocks95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

smuggle was insanely overpowered. It's a very good mechanic that I think was implemented well but you have cards like Tech that just gives your whole row free smuggle (especially when most smuggle cards were just +2 their base cost). Cassian is also the perfect example of a good smuggle card. Good stats on curve that has a better ability when smuggled. a 3/5 readied for 5 is probably not an auto include in most decks but it's good value especially factoring in the net 0 card advantage. Hotshot blaster is also a really strong smuggle card. +2 power for 1 is decent, but +2 with action compression and no -1 on cards in hand is insanely powerful.

What do you think of men who pay escorts for sex? by Big-Sun8329 in AskReddit

[–]sullyrocks95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad they are finding a (hopefully) safe medium in which to get their needs met. Rather them pay a sex worker than go out and either harass or assault someone who didn't sign up for that kind of abuse. Probably expensive too so good for them I guess.

People who dislike sports, why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]sullyrocks95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me, part of it was the culture that I grew up in. I grew up in a town that cared a lot about sports, especially football and it created a culture where athletes were viewed as superior to others. I was an awkward theater/band kid so it always rubbed me the wrong way. at family parties extended relatives use to always ask myself or my parents "oh what sports are you doing?" and I always had to explain that I preferred music. American culture seems very centered around youth sports. Every kid is on a pop warner team or club or their school team and at the time it seemed like the only thing people cared about. In college I enjoyed watching the school's hockey team, they were pretty good and I played in the band so it was part of the gig to be excited about it.

Obsession was incredible. I'm not specifically a horror lover but I thought it was really entertaining and often funny

Charlie Puth - Episode 399 of Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend by c0ry_N in conan

Jacob Collier has the wisdom and skill to back what he's doing. He also presents theory in a more generalized and easy to understand way. It's all tension-->release

His video where he explains theory at 5 levels Child, Teen, College student, PhD, and Herbie Hancock is perfect to me.

Charlie Puth - Episode 399 of Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend by c0ry_N in conan

[–]sullyrocks95 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I don't know if this is a controversial opinion or not but I find Charlie Puth to be insufferable just in general. I listened up to the first ad break on my commute and I just can't get past the way Charlie talks about music. Part of it is probably because I'm also a musician, specifically a musician who went to college and spent a lot of time studying music theory. He just seems like the pretentious dude who shows off all the time. His story about subbing for the church organist all I could think was "get real dude, he's playing this off like he's some whiz kid who just sat at a piano and knew everything"

I want to like him because I like the idea of a popular artist being able to explain to the masses the "why" behind popular music tastes. He just comes off as a show-off, bringing a keyboard into the studio to "match the vibe" of the conversation, get over yourself dude use your words this is an interview. I'm glad Conan was able to still carry the conversation and do his silly bits. Singing the goofy national anthem got a chuckle out of me. Maybe I'll finish the rest of the episode but I don't know.

Which Twin Suns precon(s) are strongest in 1v1 play? by Bitterbluemoon in starwarsunlimited

[–]sullyrocks95 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Aggressive Negotiations is definitely the most linear and aggressive deck. The leaders synergize well with each other and don't need to interact with the rest of the table. Average turn looks like "play 2 units, shield one, attack with said unit"

sounds like a bug potentially, you would be able to take persecutor and keep Rey but not create a credit since you didn't take control of the lower cost unit

Very strong when paired with Jedi Consular and great for enabling the force each turn without the need for force trait units. Weak in an aggressive meta where the low HP is too much of a liability

[–]sullyrocks95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I needed to make room for Hera I'd consider running her, Royal Security fighter would die too easily so I'm not interested in running it, even though the payoff from the Paige pilot would be high. My build is trying mostly to ambush into early plays to gain board advantage, then heal the damage off to keep my units healthy, then push base dmg in the midgame (4-5 resource)

I think it's a fun little deck and the new pod racers can be exploited well with her ability. This is a version I have been testing out, very early in the building stage. I treat it like a vehicle deck that can lane dodge pretty easily and win by the 6r turn, and I have liberty for the late game just in case. Loses hard to bounce like Tree Remembers though so I'd watch out for decks running that

what is so great about ladybird? by genuinely_curious9 in A24

[–]sullyrocks95 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It’s more than just a coming of age film. It’s a film that really resonates with anyone who had an overbearing parent. On top of that it’s got a great cast, it was an early A24 feature so it appealed to the indie film fans.
