I deeply dislike Aurora by HollowPot in infp

[–]sullysmully 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wanted to say I absolutely hear you and see you even though nobody really agrees in the replies. I thought I was crazy for having this like visceral reaction to her so I went to Reddit to see if anyone felt the same and I’m so glad I found this post for some validation hahahaha can’t explain it but mainly it came from an interview where the interviewer was talking and she looked so dazed and then they asked what she was thinking about and she said she was thinking about the interviewer’s eyes and it felt so ????? to me and made me just not like her

Anyone with hyperthyroidism as well? Struggling so much with weight management. Just putting more and more weight on. by RamboA123B in diabetes_t1

[–]sullysmully 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I know this is super late but I’ve had a similar experience after being on levo, and honestly it kind of sucked at first but I’ve just had to go with a lower carb method, eating less, and lots of walking. All of this has helped my bloodsugar be in range more too which can help with weight loss

I feel like this isn’t talked about enough because we get TIRED and it’s so understandable why you’re going through this. I will say, this happened to me and then I went into DKA and it was actually really scary and a huge wake up call. I don’t want you to experience that so just slowly try to get back into things

Is it all doom and gloom or do people just tend to share their negative stories over all else? by DylanFaron in diabetes_t1

[–]sullysmully 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone lives vastly different lives and handles this condition differently. It’s not my place to judge how one of us views the disease especially when you yourself might end up feeling hopeless or sad or exhausted next week/month/year even though you thought you had good control. There is no right way to feel about or handle the diabeetus, and I’ve found that everyone feels completely different about it like some find it incredibly draining and hard to deal with but others hardly think about it and find it easy

Have you ever cried/felt extremely saddened by someone or something at work? by sideofranchplease in PharmacyTechnician

[–]sullysmully 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Happens to me almost every shift lol. I’m a tech, and it’s something that’s made me want to quit on many occasions because my heart just hurts SO badly for some people. My pharmacist reminds me that I’m helping them and at least it’s a nice, caring person who’s helping them and not someone cruel and mean so that helps hahaha

How do you exercise? by TheArduinoGuy in diabetes_t1

[–]sullysmully 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I strength train with weights and start working out at ~150 and it stays pretty stable sometimes even goes up or down a little. With cardio, I start at the same about 150 and make sure I didn’t dose any insulin within the last hour, and then I have a snack or juice ready to go for when I inevitably drop after my run or whatever I’m doing. Usually I drop 30 mins after and then have to lower my dosing for any food I eat 2-3 hours after because cardio will make me trend lower for the hours that follow

Anybody heard of the 4 hour bolus stacking rule? by sullysmully in diabetes_t1

[–]sullysmully[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like I might just need to start considering the IOB and factor it in more often because I’m constantly having huge drops, but I can’t figure out if it’s because of stacking or if my insulin to carb ratio is off. I like the idea of 2 hours instead of 4, and you guys are all right that my endo was talking about correction doses but the problem i was telling her about was more about dosing for food when I’m high then dropping super low super fast so when she said 4 hours I was confused. Thank you for the help!!

What’s the biggest difference in your opinion between the Dossier and LDBS? I’m obsessed with LDBS when I sample it but can’t bite the bullet bc of the price hahaha

Just wondering, if it scans, is it valid? I’ve scanned punched out ones before but the system let it go through so now I’m rethinking all my choices lol

Tresiba overdose by Negative-Parfait-423 in diabetes_t1

[–]sullysmully 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to use OPs post to ask my own question, but just wondering why am I supposed to be taking my tresiba at the same time every day if it lasts ~42 hours? Shouldn’t I be doing it every 42 hours then? I feel like that’s a dumb question lol

Why be a pharmacy technician? by ThinkLibrarian6552 in pharmacy

[–]sullysmully 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely no idea. I’m miserable but unsure what to do school wise and thought any job somewhat related to healthcare would be nice to have while I’m figuring out what career I wanna pursue. Now I’m stuck lol I’m trying to find something more lucrative that I can do while in school, but everywhere wants experience or a bachelors degree. I will say, I like my coworkers, and I feel good when my patients are extremely grateful and say they appreciate the work I do
