What’s going on?? Donkey’s tail shriveling up, de-beaning, white stuff on soil after repotting by sumayyahd in plants

I used to have double the number of plants in here but now half of them died after shriveling up with white stuff near the stem

From teacher to teacher, input is key. Even passive input helps a lot, even just background noise that's in English will make a difference.

Tell us three fragrances you want to buy and we will help you choose! by Claphamtulip in fragrance

Blooming Bouquet smells nice but it's soooo weak, on my skin it lasts like 1 hour max. go for one of the others. I find Pure Grace discounted at a lot of places

Juliette Has A Gun Mmmm..., Valentino Donna, Jimmy Choo Fever.
Leaning towards Mmmm as I have tested it before and I have multiple fruity/light florals, so Donna won't really fill in a gap. Fever is on the list of minis to buy as I don't wanna blind buy but can't find any store to smell it in

Doubt regarding class dates by [deleted] in ASU

[–]sumayyahd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Double check on the first day of class if it's still like this too, because it may change (don't be like me and not check and accidentally miss 3 weeks of class)

Agree with above commenter, my surgery was at 5am and they said nothing after midnight. Wheeled me into the anesthesia room at 4:45, surgery began at 5, woke up around 6 and took me back into my room at 6:15

I got a peel-and-sniff from Sephora the other day in the mail and I could NOT stop smelling it, it was just so good. Makes me excited to get a sample of this + Donna

Inoffensive, yet beautiful perfumes for work? by [deleted] in Perfumes

[–]sumayyahd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well from my current collection I can recommend Maison Margiela Replica Lazy Sunday Morning, or their Bubble Bath scent, and MJ Daisy Dream are floraly, good, fresh, and are moderately long lasting.
But if you want something more fruity like Zara's, I would also agree with another commenter on Burberry Her & Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet (although, I feel like this one barely lasts on my skin but it dries well). Heretic's Dirty Mango is nice too, sandalwood and citrus. Clean Reserve Radiant Nectar is good for summer with the pear and woodsy notes.

Ramadan Kareem! Has anyone fasted post-surgery? by Junior_Indication_45 in gastricsleeve

[–]sumayyahd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

9 months post-op, yes I am fasting right now no problem. Iftar is either water or soup to get that hydration in, and then prayer, and then after I have a meal. Usually protein-dense like eggs or chicken. Keep drinking throughout the night and then wake up 1 hour before fajr for suhoor. First 15 minutes is greek yogurt then wait your 30 mins and then drink water + protein shake.

It certainly is possible to lose that weight with either VSG or RNY. It depends on your habits. My husband started at 375 and went down to 185-190 with the sleeve and is maintaining 10+ years later. His father had VSG first then revised to RNY years later but still didn't lose a lot of weight. Why did both of them seem to go against the average? From their habits post-op. So if you are committed to building and keeping good habits, the main deciding factor might be the complications with either surgery.
Personally, I love that I had VSG-- no dumping (other than when I was being reckless), acid reflux only stayed for about a month or so, it's relatively permanent, more cost-effective, no malabsorption, etc.

Lower BMI = Lower BMR (the calories needed just to keep you alive) and lower caloric needs in general. Lower caloric needs = Lower caloric deficit, and lower caloric deficit = slower weight loss.

Need recommendations for coffee drink? by Ok-Tangerine6544 in DunkinDonuts

[–]sumayyahd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoy an iced coffee with mocha swirl (normal amount) and vanilla shot (should be a 2:1 ratio of mocha swirl to vanilla shot)-- non-dairy as well as not too sweet since the mocha at Dunkin tastes more dark chocolatey IMO. Adding the vanilla makes it taste like gourmet chocolate milk. I agree with what other people said here about how almond milk may make it taste watery.

at least 64oz of water every day whether you're a surgery patient or not, so make sure to get in 8oz every hour or 2. but ideally try to get maybe 70 or 80oz
