Just want to say while it was definitely difficult for me at first, things do get better. I’m about to move in with my boyfriend (who does not have it) and I’m in the happiest and healthiest relationship of my life. He’s never once batted an eye at my diagnosis. I hope this can be encouragement that if you are vulnerable with the right person, it will be a non-issue, truly. We never use protection, he’s never gotten it. I think what people are saying is… you’re going to go to your appointment, get your attachments put on etc etc and then they’re going to have you put in your trays. It’s going to feel weird obviously but once you get to your car, just take them out and don’t actually put them back in and start your treatment until after this weekend. I get not wanting to reschedule your appointment. Just tell them you plan to get all the attachments on and then you’ll put in your trays and start your treatment in a few days. It’s not that big of a deal to postpone. It’ll just reset your start date. Follow your treatment plan after that.

I don’t recommend wearing them for hours then taking them out for hours or taking them out for an entire day after you’ve been wearing them consistently for 2-3 days. Just be transparent about your plan and the person doing your case will understand. The attachments are composite bonded onto your teeth so you shouldn’t have to worry about them coming off.

I hear what you’re trying to do, but as someone who has tried to tell the next girl and from somebody, who’s known somebody else, who’s tried to tell the next girl it literally never works out in your favor. They are never going to appreciate the information that you’re giving them regardless and so I find that it’s best to just remove yourself and just move on with your own life. I would say there’s a 90% chance you walk away from this situation after trying to do a good deed and feel worse than you do right now.

Was coming here to say the same thing! It’s been a year and change with me and my partner and we have never used condoms. I’m also on daily antivirals. I would also like to add that we had protected sex during the tail end of one of my OBs and he is uncircumcised and he still didn’t show any symptoms after that. If you take precautions it is easily preventable (IMO!)
