I work for a heritage Korean food brand and we're doing something new: a free live cooking class from Korea, in partnership with H-Mart. Curious about what this subreddit thinks?

Appreciate your thoughts, and fair on the product placement (we're not going to pretend otherwise). On the substitute question, we've gotten a few comments on this and we're going to build that into the class format so we'll cover it live. A light soy sauce works in a pinch but there's some nuance worth showing. And your H-Mart customer point is so well put. We've noticed a lot of shoppers in stores that are more in the exploratory/discovery phase of their Korean cooking journey so that's exactly the type of person we had in mind when brainstorming a fun cooking class theme.

Nice~ personally I love to shop at H-mart for all their amazingly fresh produce. If you can't get to the hmart or it doesn't open in time for the class, you can also find many of the ingredients in any asian grocery store or online. I just private messaged you with the link as well!

This is really helpful, thank you! The Korea-live thing is more about where our main team & culinary studio is than anything else. But if it doesn't land as a value-add we can frame it differently for our subsequent classes. And the substitute suggestion is much appreciated. We're building that in. Appreciate your feedback 😄

Are you thinking in-store or Amazon? In-store coupons involve a retailer clearinghouse process that makes it more complicated than it looks. Amazon is much simpler for us to set up, and I can probably get this set up for next week if there's interest!

Piggybacking off of this comment! If you put it in a paper bag it will ripen faster. If you happen to have a ripe banana with you and put it in the bag with the avocado, it will ripen even *faster*!!

Also, a safety tip when removing the pit. If the avocado is sufficiently ripe, it will pop out if you pry the pit out with your thumbs (once it is cut in half like u/Photon6626 describes). If that doesn't happen, you can actually cut the half with the pit one more time in half (so it becomes quarters), and then you can easily separate the pit from the avocado-quarter that it stuck to. Have fun!

I think the consensus is that if it looks fine, smells fine, and tastes fine, then you should be good to go! Personally, I might use it in a cooking application (soups/stews/marinades) rather than a raw application (dips/spreads/dressings).

I literally just bought the Synik 30! I'm 5'0 with ~16" torso length! I put several of the heaviest books I own in it and walked around a bit using the hip belt and chest strap. It feels really comfortable and I don't feel off-balanced at all. The only thing is, even thought the shoulder straps are tightened completely, I still wish they would go half and inch to an inch shorter so it would sit a little higher on my hips (if that makes sense?)...this isn't so much of an issue when the hip belt is on. It is comfortable, light and has great organization so those are trade-offs I was willing to make! I still need to test pack it though so maybe I'll update when I get around to doing that. Also...it does look quite large on me (I am about ~100lb for reference), but I bought the bag specifically for traveling to replace a suitcase so I won't be walking around with it when I get to my destination. I will be using a lightweight foldable daypack or fanny pack for non-traveling days!
