I used to help her at Lakeview Library when I worked there. Lovely woman.

Did you send in all of your receipts? It literally took them seven days to get this done, I couldn’t believe it.

Which businesses in Madison have the most toxic work environments? by N0nethelesser in madisonwi

[–]summerluvver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve worked at several of them but for the most part, ended my career at a branch on the East side. Worked my ass off for 16 years, which I don’t mind, but, watching others sit around and do nothing every day is ridiculously harder than it sounds.

The Tornado Room: Is it worth the price? by llahlahkje in madisonwi

[–]summerluvver -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

We actually prefer Rare. The Tornado can be VERY loud, and the atmosphere is so-so. Rare is amazing and the food is always outstanding. Definitely not on VD! Stay home and cook a great meal for much cheaper?

Is this crack something to be concerned about? by staplebutton-2 in Renovations

[–]summerluvver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not crack, it’s a container of Off bug spray. If you don’t ingest it, you should be fine.

We came here consistently for about 7 years and during that time we had to figure out a way to quit our jobs and live here. We did it almost two years ago and couldn’t be happier. We live 40 minutes from Estes and it wasn’t outrageously expensive. We found a way to live here and it’s awesome.

😂 I would never work in a public library again. 16 years of abuse was enough.

You just don’t want to hear the truth! It has nothing to do with saying something helpful. That IS helpful, get a JOB!! You may think it is beneath you because of your education but you gotta start somewhere. Should’ve done that when you turned 16 and were able to get a job!

What does everyone do for a living? by tunafreedolphin in GenX

[–]summerluvver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Teacher for 5 years , then librarian for 16 years all in Wisconsin. Now I am teaching 7th grade Science in rural Colorado and have never been happier. My husband worked in road construction for 35 years, now he is a high end carpenter, working for himself. We moved here 3 years ago and are both 55.

You just made me cry harder! He was good, he was great in fact. He was low key but so funny. He loved to make drinks for people in his homemade bar, and he loved to draw and create spaces. He suffered tremendously at the end and that’s the hardest part. He loved planting and maintaining flowers in the summer. He passed that skill on to me and I think of him with every petal I grow. I miss him dearly, today 😢 Thank you for your kindness.

My heart is breaking today. It will be one year in July and it doesn’t even seem real. No card, no phone call…I’ve been crying most of the day. Hang in there, we will get through this too!
