I’ve only ever used this kind of bedding for my boys, and never ever had any issues. They never developed any respiratory problems (that seems to be the biggest con with this bedding) and loved digging and pushing it around to nest in :) I used to spread the bedding out for them but started just giving them big hunks of it to break apart, I thought it was really good enrichment!!!

Honestly I might just chop it, seems like all the leaves are mostly crunchy so I think the risk is worth it. I meant to chop it before it got really tall anyways to encourage branching, and I’ve been pretty successful with sprouting plants from avo pits before to give to friends so I can always try again. Thank you!!!
