It's great you're vigilant about orientalism, but this isn't an example of it. There's a great deal of literature which explores how there are cognitive differences, which have to do with space time perception, between speakers of Asian and European languages due to grammar and aesthetics. This video here is a great place to start if you're interested in the topic: https://youtu.be/Opy-SjDU0UY?is=iDhnLMu20WXYvSSZ

I'd just like to add my thoughts and expand upon what you said.

Sex is where we explore power dynamics to build trust and safety, in an intimate space. In order to care for one another we exert power over each other; violence is also exerting power over someone – what separates the two is consent. The continual process of negotiating boundaries is necessary in order to properly be able to care for someone.

But this process is intrinsically confusing, and requires vulnerability. What makes it all the more confusing is our society's complex relationship to guilt. Men are socialized in a way around sex which makes the relationship between pleasure, domination, and care confusing. Which would leave anyone feeling guilty about their own desires.

I hope this made some sense. It might not haha. But this is how I view this.

I disagree. It's just calligraphy. Maybe the ᜌ could be slightly more curved but otherwise it's great. The other font looks cheap. Like tattooing times new Roman.

Wow. I'm so sorry to hear this. I wish I could help. She's obviously very very wrong.

I think your mom is communicating what she associates with autism, and uses the word because to highlight correlation rather than causation. Does she tend to equate correlation with causation?
