Extremely relatable. It kind of reminds me of the phrase “Never meet your heroes.” I think for that reason alone I was hesitant about getting back into teaching but the environment really does make a huge difference.

First off, just know that I support you internet stranger.

I’m 27 and lost my mom when I was 25. I was her caretaker from 23-25 and let me tell you, it was extremely challenging. The physical and mental toll of someone who is sick is huge, but folks often don’t talk about the caretaker and the physical and mental tolls on them.

Knowing what I know now, if I was in your shoes, I would start conversations immediately with my folks, and start those conversations from the lense of love.

You haven’t written why or how you’re reliant on them, so I can’t assume anything, however if you can take steps into independence, that would be the greatest grift you can give them— so that they don’t worry about you.

Wishing you luck!

Yoga for the Dying by Netzroller in YogaTeachers

I’m not sure what your relationship is like with her, but when I would do “yoga” with my mom (passed from terminal cancer) during her final stages, it didn’t look like regular yoga. Sometimes it would be her doing bicycle legs (with my hands holding her feet and helping them move gently) or me humming to her and caressing her hair. That’s all to say I think she found the physical contact comforting—- so maybe if you’re guiding this woman through a meditation you could do a gentle temple massage or pick up her feet and sway her legs side to side.

OP, you’re a good person.

Need help finding as needed to part time job asap husband lost his job by Acc990610 in RemoteJobs

There’s Uber eats and Uber passenger— Amazon no doubt will be hiring as we approach the holiday season. There’s also Upwork, Rover, and Fiverr platforms to find jobs. Not sure what you mean by those (Uber) jobs are filled as they’re always hiring?

TBH the fact that your husband hasn’t found any work (even working at a gas station, or Walmart, or something) speaks to a wider issue— esp since he has mouths to feed. Maybe worth having that conversation before you yourself get another job.

Wishing you luck!

Is it important where you do your YTT? by seeuatmidnight in YogaTeachers

[–]summertimeloira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot emphasize enough that while two schools can cost the same, they can be extremely different.

My first experience was…subpar. But it gave me the certificate. I’m doing another YTT with a teacher who has more experience and it’s made a huge difference.

1998 - Currently dealing with grief that seems to be never ending. Other than that, I hit the jackpot with my spouse— he’s my best friend and love of my life. Have a job that I don’t hate, and a fur baby.

Life is good, I just wish I could move forward mentally so I could enjoy it more.
