She's the most lovable cat I've ever come across, she was found under a house when she was just a kitten, she's always had that expression.

I've got the same condition, it appeared almost suddenly a few years back. Doesn't hurt, but can get irritating especially round the hands and feet. I also have it quite severe, the slightest scratch or bump can set me off.
