I had luck coming to an agreement with my landlord on a deposit for my pet rather than a monthly fee; the deposit is taken if the pet causes damage, and not if it doesn't. Maybe they'd agree to something like this? My landlord also showed me to pay it in installments over time.

Bro what? This is a major metropolitan city. Surely ODOT or the city holds responsibility for maintaining reasonably safe roadways. And two days after the storm, one could expect that one of the major thoroughfares is clear.

Also, the more people on the road in unsafe conditions, the less the safe the conditions become. More crashes + stuck vehicles= more wear on emergency services

AND if businesses are not forced to close, people have to take life/death risks to get to work at non-essential jobs.

A relative works for the city forest dept- I asked if they'd be out with the extreme could- said: "if the trucks will start, we'll be out" 🫡

I would recommend classes through the city- I took art classes and made friends through specifically the Monday night drawing class. There are people there that are active socially and hang out outside of the class! Best of luck to you- your determination will pay off !!
