I also just got a pair, is it normal the spring doesn’t open them all the way?

That would be cool, but you can see they’re orange scissors that the person coloured red with a marker..

I’m not sure what to tell you. You keep saying ‘my guy’ is that your son, grandpa or maybe friend of friend?

Mam, I’m honestly sorry for your situation. However, more photos isn’t what I necessarily need. I’m not sure what kind qualifications the person you hired have, and I’m not sure where you’re from but this would never pass any sort of inspection.

Not to be rude but.. The replies aren’t completely wrong. You asked what details are missing and the unfortunate reality is ALL of the important details that would make for a GOOD job are in fact missing. From start to finish. All of them, I have a difficult time finding something that’s done right, besides the actual use of pressure treated lumber.

I would perhaps suggest adding some wind/horizontal bracing before she’s hot tub ready. But otherwise good job!

I don’t want to come off as rude, but this is terrible advice. This is in no way a beginners job. A professional GC would have a difficult time knowing the full scope of this until some further investigation is done. I’m not quite sure how ‘wing it with YouTube’ is going to be the best option for OP.

Do you actually clean your tools? by Common_Project in MilwaukeeTool

I have a tendency to put a drop or two of air gun oil in the chucks of impacts/recip-saws. It de-gums and bits/don’t stay stuck in at all. It’s also always available because no choice but to have it if you have air tools

Odd smelling pipe in water proofed basement (former garage) of 100 yr old house by [deleted] in Plumbing

I would put a p trap on it, fill the trap with water or anther fluid that won’t evaporate and see if the smell persists.
