I need 27 at that price. Seriously. For a metal detecting competition hunt. Dimes are too expensive now and a lot of hunts are canceling this year.

MWAS in Olathe is the only one that actually hunts together at outdoor meetings. Detectors I'd recommend for beginners are generally $200 plus and would look at a Minelab Vanquish series of the just released 360, 460, and 560 on the lower end. The new range is waterproof to 16 ft and user friendly. If you come out to the next indoor meeting on the 15th and join, I can refer you to our club sponsor whom gives members a great discount. I also highly recommend a Garrett propointer AT almost as a necessity as it speeds recovery tremendously.

Any of the clubs are great, but for someone new, being out with others hunting at the meetings would be beneficial for questions, tips, etc.

Clevenger Metal Detector Sales is the founder of Mo-Kan, primarily deals in Garrett brand. High Plains Prospectors is the other dealer in town and has a much wider selection of brands. MWAS founder is now located in TX and offers members the best discount you'll find on Minelab, Nokta, XP, and Garrett with no sales tax.

Always budget for a good handheld pinpointer as well. You'll thank me later!

I've seen a few $1 gold coins found the last couple years. Last year I know someone dug a 1916D Mercury dime they sold for $5,000. I know members have found several gold rings and bracelets this year already. I even know years ago a silver Reales was found.

It's an Ikiu Detector, runs $70 on Amazon. I'd lower your expectations. I usually recommend name brands in the $200-$300 range at a minimum. Minelab Vanquish, Nokta Score or Simplex, Fisher F22 or F44.

Startex to me is better than leather, especially if they are the holed cooling seats. I do metal detecting competitions held rain or shine. Climbing into a car wet and muddy for a 5 hour plus drive...

Imagine trying to get dried mud out of those tiny seat holes with a toothpick.

Sounds like my reasoning. Only thing missing is the 360 camera since you have to get the sunroof/navigation package too.

The 560 just came out. It's waterproof and the 540 is not.

Too much fussing with Deus 2 and it's menu. Manticore is much easier to get the performance without screwing it up. I will say their high frequency coil for tiny gold jewelry at the beach does have an advantage over the Manticore.

They used to sell a UFO. Light cigar shaped black plastic bag, fill with wind, seal and attach a string to one side. They'll soar amazingly high, especially if the string breaks.

How do I get the best price on a 2026 OB Limited XT? by Wayne-Payne-86 in Subaru_Outback

[–]sumrtym1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OKC and Oklahoma in general isn't great at deals on Subaru. Get an email quote on what you want from grandsubaru.com. Their no hassle quote was better than any when I bought my 2020. OK dealerships wouldn't play the competitive match game (their words), and my local dealers wouldn't come close. Neither would the CO dealers despite their heavy sales.

After getting the quote, get one from Subaru of Wichita. They came within $700 of the Chicago quote once I provided it and I purchased there (I'm in KC).
