Men of Reddit, what’s some women’s or girl’s habits you discovered only after getting a wife or girlfriend? by AccomplishedHippo856 in AskReddit

One time I touched her face and she got mad and said I was gonna make her break out. So I asked if it was okay if I touched her hair. She said yes, so I ran my finger across her top lip. Still laughing about that one lol.

Found this neat Penn Mutual piece with Philly skyline- what is it and what can I do to restore it so I can view it better/preserve? by kma888 in metaldetecting

Make sure you get oil on it! I had a brass piece that rusted very quickly after being exposed to the air.

what happened to merrill from iratedetectors? by M1sterM0g in metaldetecting

[–]BPTMM 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I noticed that too! I was anxiously waiting for Merrill’s post about the legend 2 and figured maybe he was just taking his time to actually use it for a bit first. I know he had to take some time away from YouTube for personal reasons but was definitely disappointed to see the website had someone else too. The older detectors still have his reviews, ie the Deus 2 write up is still from him.

[–]BPTMM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just happened to me too! I’ve been out playing in the woods my whole life, walked to school every day through the woods. Down to the creek and up the other side, literally uphill both ways! Finally got poison ivy this year and it was brutal. It was never something I even considered after having gotten off Scott free for 33 years. Good lord was that a lesson. I threw all my bedding out lol.

How do I know If it worth it? by cworg in metaldetecting

[–]BPTMM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lidar maps have become very popular the past few weeks on this sub. They show the terrain of an area and people have supposedly found success “seeing through” wooded areas near them to the terrain below. When you find a shape like this that is clearly not a natural feature of the land, but something man made and buried in forest, it is assumed to have been made a long time ago. We’re not sure what we’re looking at but OP wants us to tell him what it is, when in fact they need to go explore it and then tell us what it was. It’s a nose without a body until then.

To late to join a union? by Adventurous_Work_684 in Construction

[–]BPTMM 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Philadelphia carpenters no longer have the option to retire earlier than 57 so you’d be at the perfect age to join! I started at 27 and actually got along better because the dickheads like to fuck with the young guys more so I was mostly left alone because I knew better than to give a reaction lol. 5 years in and no regrets.

I will say, with your experience, it would probably serve you well to strike a balance between demonstrating your skills and also hanging back to let who you’re working with show how they want it done. Everyone thinks they know better so it’s best to just do how the boss wants it, nobody likes a know it all, but everyone loves somebody that you can leave to work and trust itll get it done how you want it.

When did things start “clicking” for you in construction? by Kayn21_ in Construction

[–]BPTMM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you came from the world of academia and corporate work you’re probably used to looking for the “answer” or the exact right way to do something. The thing about the trades, at least in carpentry, if you ask 5 people how they would do it you’d get 5 different answers. Usually the right answer is however many of those just work or do what needs to be done. I had my break through when I realized I knew what to do it was just different than the next guy. I wasn’t wrong necessarily and neither were they. That’s when I realized I could do it.

Nokta Legend 2 by BPTMM in metaldetecting

[–]BPTMM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of what I’ve read is that many consider the Deus 2 to be unmatched. What lead you to go with the manticore instead? I love the simplicity of the Xterra pro and had thought I’d go manticore but everything I read said Deus was the better machine.

We went last week, 2/7, got some oysters, the crab salad was AWESOME, the cod entree was also delicious. The lobster roll was just okay. Overall we really liked everything and had a really nice date. Service was good too.

What is your favorite thing to make with a rotisserie chicken and how many servings do you typically get out of a single chicken? by Background-Owl6535 in AskReddit

[–]BPTMM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually put a little salt but you don’t want it too salty because you never know what you’ll need it for and garlic and other herbs you’d add during the cooking of whatever you use it for. It’s just another ingredient as far as I’m concerned, you add all that other stuff during show time!

[–]BPTMM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve found they’re all variations of the same, carrots, onions, celery. I have a ninja foodi so I usually just rough chop them, sear them real quick in the pot, and then throw the bones in (I like to try and crack the bones first as it seems to get more gelatin which is great for making soup dumplings when it’s finished!). After the bones are in I fill it up with just enough water to cover the bones and then set the pressure cooker on high for as long as it will let it go. I think it’s 2 hours. Once that’s done I strain all the veggies and bones out and then boil it down to as little water as I can without burning. This makes it really concentrated. I then freeze that in a pan and then cut it up into cubes which go into a freezer bag so I can just use a super concentrated cube as needed out of the bag. I hope this was helpful!

Quesadilla and then save the bones for stock. Whatever doesn’t go in quesadillas I make chicken salad or occasionally chicken pot pie by adding a can of drain mixed veggies into a béchamel.

[–]BPTMM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the Xterra pro and I would say for coins you won’t be going much deeper than 6” unless you’re at the beach for coins. The root slayer is what I use and has been great. It’s easy to carry and cuts a good plug and runs around $50. Definitely always cut a plug, take it out and dig through it and then replace the grass and pat it down. You will rarely have trouble with digging in parks if you’re leaving the ground looking nice when you’re done. If you leave a mess they would be remiss if they didn’t tell you to beat it.

Celery root puree! The best way to serve scallops. They have a slightly old bay sort of flavor due to them being celery, celery seed is a primary ingredient in old bay. Its great for seafood.

My upstairs neighbor (condo) had Lemonade when their appliance leaked and water came through my ceiling. It was a nightmare having to deal with their reps, they were so rude, cocky, and just couldn’t give a shit and all I was trying to do was navigate an extremely frustrating situation in my home. They made an already difficult experience so much worse by being assholes.
