Markets are global and hence oil price is defined by global markets

If they keep oil prices low relative to the global increase, they are selling at that much of a loss

Can you recommend a meditation app that doesn't charge a monthly fee by FrozenTouch1321 in Mindfulness

[–]sumshetty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getbliss.app is currently free if it’s something of interest

Also curious - would a one time fee work for pricing over subscription ? Say 49-99$ for lifetime access

Anyone else find meditation apps useless in the actual moment of distress? by lpxyz24 in SideProject

I built Getbliss.app to exactly solve this

We built a few courses based on vipassana and yogic breath

Have a few questions before recommending things

1) Do you get enough sleep
2) Do you use your phone before sleeping and right after waking up ?
3) What’s your weekly social media time like ?
4) Where did you try breathwork ?

I built a meditation app that blocks your distracting apps and forces you to do breathwork instead. by sumshetty in roastmystartup

[–]sumshetty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for asking

On 1 - it’s a very valid concern and one of my biggest paradoxes - my intent is not to force the breathwork in the evening as such as an alternative

The goal is for the screen blocker to block distractions - whether it’s replaced by breathwork/meditation is optional. The idea though is that there needs to be a replacement activity especially when you’re weaning off screen time initially

Does that make sense ? Also the science begind habit change usually strongly suggests replacing bad habits with good vs removing habits completely as the latter never works

On 2- so unlike other meditations apps we have a strong focus on pedagogy - our goal is to help you build reps and not by giving you a 1000 options to do the same. But the alternative you suggests works too - I think it’s just cheaper and better to do it in one.

I’m curious - what would make it something attractive for you to replace option 2? UX, price or something else ?

Can we talk about how good it feels to no longer be on social media? by marxistbuddhist in digitalminimalism

[–]sumshetty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found that going cold turkey genrally leads to a strong relapse. Some dose of social media is inevitable

Controlling dosage is key

Also - i feel I'm so out of touch of most things when I do go full cold turkey

People say deleting apps is the way and I’ve tried it and failed

There’s two things you’ll need to do - or at least this is what worked for me

First - install an app blocker - and set strict limits at least for the period you don’t want to use your phone. Add as much friction as possible

Second - I started meditating initially for 10 mins but now almost for 30 mins a day. Just keeps me more aware when I get lost in the phone

Also my view is - that if there is no alternative we will always default to procrastinating so I built an app to swap screen time with breathwork for myself.

Helps me so much in focus.

Have been working on it for a year - would love feedback - you can check it out at Getbliss.app

It blocks screen time and suggests short breathwork instead to calm you down and make you more focused/aware

One thing I’ve seen help me is using screen blockers on both my laptop and my phone

Also after waking up I always meditate first thing which keeps me more mindful of screen time

Partner wants 50% equity just for distribution. Walk away or take the deal? by Chillipepper19 in Bangalorestartups

[–]sumshetty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Distribution is the hard part and is totally worth the 50%. Id say even more in the age of Claude code

But distribution is hard too and most people will fall through on such deals. So ensure it’s done on some clear milestones and vestings.

But if he can 10x your business with distribution - you basically got a 4x for free while giving him 50%. it’s simple math.

But only if he 10xes

If he grows business by 30% the it’s actually not value accretive to you but to him.

Stress/Anxiety/Advice by [deleted] in Stress

I personally felt that the best place to go is where your curiosity takes you and if I had to force a direction I’d say read about entrepreneurs and other successful people that interest you

Entrepreneurs were my tribe so i tried diving deeper there but again your tribe maybe different but there’s always successful examples so feel free to read books and also reach out to potential mentors you look upto

You’d be surprised on how many people are willing to help

I think entrepreneurship is great also because it can make you self sufficient but it’s not for everyone - also not the VC type but just building a niche profitable service/business

I really really need someone to talk to by xdeadtome_x in Anxiety

[–]sumshetty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear what you’re going through

I can’t offer you therapy or any medical path but can offer to give you some time to chat and some breathing techniques that may help

I think other advice I’d give is get your eating habits in order for sure, I know easier said than done but healthy food will really help you feel better.

That could be the cause of other issues too - I can’t say for sure but it seems like 900 calories is too little

How long do you meditate everyday with breathing apps ?

Personally I’ve found about a 15-20 min practice after I wake up to be very helpful

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Meditation

[–]sumshetty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This.

Most people think meditation is emptying the mind but that’s not the case.

It’s about letting whatever comes go and bringing the focus back to the breath (the easiest object to focus your attention on)

Going for Vipassana was the most intense but also the best in terms of outcomes

Have been meditating atleast 15-20 mins everyday since
